Interview attire! Help!

What should I wear for an interview? The position is for a teacher at a college.

I've been on very, very few formal interviews, so I'm really clueless.

For those who don't know me, I'm plus sized, so I need something appropriate in that sense as well.

TIA!

Re: Interview attire! Help!

i've been going on interviews too and having been wearing these kinds of outfits:

nice shell dresses with jacket (i've been carrying my jacket and often not putting it on since it's so hot out)

I would get a skirt suit for the summer.

Re: Interview attire! Help!

As someone that worked on a college campus before having a baby (and whose DH is a professor)...

Adjunct position or full time? Also, what college? It all depends. If it's a private campus or religious affiliated campus, definitely full suit/formal. If you're going to a community college or commuter campus, I would say it can be a little more relaxed (I've worn a skirt and white short-sleeved blouse with a pop of green shoes, and it was absolutely fine--they thought I was stylin' ). If it's a liberal arts public school, it can also probably be a little more relaxed.

In short: If the professors are people that wear suits when they teach, do it up in a formal suit. If they dress down when they teach, no need to do the suit--just look nice and no jeans!
