Who is wearing some green??? You ALL better be wearing some green!!!! EVERYONE is Irish on St Patrick's day!! We like to celebrate with all!!! Don't wear any Orange though!!!!

Here are some fun facts on LIW for you!! (more on my fb page!!) St Patrick was English (real name is thought to be Maewyn Succat) and sold into slavery as a teenager. He was a slave in Ireland for 6 years. Upon his return to Ireland he brought Christianity with him, using the shamrock to explain the holy trinity. He used the christian cross and combined it with a symbol of the god of the sun (or the sun cross) to blend Pagan Irish (or Druids in Ireland) to Christianity; now known as the Celtic Cross.
While the Irish have observed St Patrick's Day for thousands of years, 1762 was the year of the first St Patrick day parade in NYC!!!! GET YOUR GREEN ON!!!!! MARCH 17th!!!!!

St. Patrick's Day is my 2nd fav holiday!!!!! I will definitely be going out, no parade for me because I have to actually work, but going out and partying it up!!!!!!

Hee - well I'm not Irish but with red hair and freckles and the name Heather I get to pretend I am!!! I think maybe I'll make Irish Soda bread to get into the mood!! and there's an Irish pub across the street from me so maybe I'll go have some green beer!!

Cannot wait for St. Paddys Day! No parade for me though :(
We did some celebrating this past weekend. My bro shaved his head for St. Baldricks at some bar so I had my Guinness while listening to the bagpipes while we raised money for kids with cancer.
I am making my irish soda bread tonight and tomorrow go over moms for corned beef hopefully.
My uncle is in a pipe band and his band recorded a CD so I will be blasting that all day tomorrow!

My uncle is from Jersey I have to see if he has a site...his band is actually playing in Georgia this year. After Georgia they are going to play in Puerto Rico for some fire convention. Last year they played in Ireland for St. Paddys Day!
Im 100% Irish and I am going to the parade! I go every year! This year Im going to the NYPD emerald society party with DH and Im so excited!
I made my first irish soda bread this year all by myself! I dont ever cook so this was a big accomplishment for me haha

I am so excited! The high school in our district is marching in the parade tomorrow and Brad and I get to chaperone! SOO Fun!! Yay! No green for us...we have to wear red and black...school colors

Im not Irish but I used to date someone who was 100% Irish for 4 years. So you can say that I've had some Irish 'in me' from time to time...if ya catch my drift!
