Is it stupid to........

have a replica bouquet made and then have it preserved?

i don't know WHY i didn't do this i guess b/c i'm not really a flower person - my bok was gorgeous, i loved it and would love to have saved it...now its gone and i wish i had it - the only thing is that if i get a replica made its not really the same exact thing - and it loses the sentimental value.....im an idiot - should have saved those flowers!

Do you mean a real or fake one? I guess if you know someone good who can do it for you..I had a replica made (its fake though)...and to be honest it really didn't look like my bo-k at all..I wish I just would have spent the money and preserved it

Nope it is not stupid at all. I am actually going to do this, I had everything planned to have my bo-k preserved and then one of my BM's forgot to mail it. Needless to say when I came home from our HM and saw my dead bo-k in our room I freaked. My florist messed up on my bo-k anyway so they are going to make another one free of charge for me.
(Besides 20 years from now you wont remember that it was not the one that you carried)

ok, i feel better....you know, i didnt think i would love the bok that much but i really liked my flowers.....i have pictures of the flowers, but i really think those shadowboxes are nice.....

i told DH that maybe for our anniversary he can have my bok made for me again - but i dont know if i can wait all year

the only thing is aren't those shadowvboxes expensive? i remember looking into it and thinking it wasnt worth the money but now i am wishing i just did it anyway

I've always heard they were...and preserving it is just expensive in general..But I really regret it now..I wish I would have done it..I loved my bo-k..It would have been nice to display it somewhere

When I researched it depends on the size. I know the prices ranged between 400 and 600. You can add things to them as well. Like I know I want to include my garter and wedding invite.

What did you do with your original bo-k? I dried mine and have in in a vase in our room. It looks really pretty so you can try that as well.

i had a fake bo-k made up just like me real one and it came out awesome, she used some freeze dried and silk flowers for it and it cost a ton less then having my real one preserved.....
i say if you have somewhere to display it then go for it!!!!

not stupid at all! I never even knew about the preservation services out there so my bouquet died. If you don't mind spending the money, do it! I was very lucky and got some gorgeous photographs of mine in my proofs, so I had one blown up and matted. I just don't know that a replica could ever do the original one justice!
