Is this a scam?? (UPDATED: it wasn't a scam - i won free off-broadway tix! ..yay!)

I just got an email that says i won 4 free tix to an off-broadway show. The email said I need to respond with which date I'd like to go (they gave 10 choices) and they'd respond with a confirmation.

So I sent them a date (this Saturday) and I got a response about 2 minutes later that said that i was confirmed and all i need to do is print out that email and go to the will call right before the show.

But there's no confirmation number, and my name's not even in the email!

Do you guys think it's a scam? I mean, they're not asking for money or any info from me - but I don't want to waste my time & money on the LIRR if i don't def have tix to this show, KWIM?

oh, and I responded to the email asking if i have a confirmation number .... the lady responded saying 'this email is your confirmation' .... i'm still confused.

I'd call the Box Office and see what they say before you waste your time and money - just to be sure

What kind of company is it? Did you try googling their name?

the company is Best Off-Broadway

i honestly have no idea if i registered there ever .... it's quite possible that i did and forgot

It seems pretty legit. From the website and the contest they have. It seems all you had to do was sign up for e-mails and you're automatically entered each month. Still call the Box Office just to check but usually for scams like these if you google it something will come up in Yahoo Answers or Snopes.com or something. Here's hoping you really won!

just spoke to the box office .... the lady laughed at me when i told her i wanted to confirm it wasn't a scam

regardless, she said it's not ... i really won

I received the same email and thought it was a scam too. It was for Miss Abigails Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage. Is this the same email you received? I can't make any of those dates so I just ignored the email. Have fun
