Re: Is your life the way you thought it would be?
My senior year of college I was fully sure that I would get a job in PR in the City, not get married, and completely live life as a career oriented woman.........
Here I am 5 years later, a teacher, and married!
I always knew that I would have a career, never thought I would get married!!
ETA: I stlil consider myslef career oriented though !!

I had always wanted to marry young....not this young tho. I assumed I'd be married by 24. I'm 22 and now married.
I also NEVER had any intention of marrying someone in the military. As a matter of fact, I tried to avoid it. Well, I ended up marry one anyway.
I never wanted to move away from my family. We'll be moving from NY to GA to NC and I cant wait!
Since I was like 6 I wanted to be a teacher. My freshman year of college I changed my mind and now I'm going in as a Guidance Counselor.
And ya know what.....I wouldnt change a thing

Re: Is your life the way you thought it would be?
No, my life is completly different. I expected to go to school straight through my doctorate program, never get married, buy a condo and live there and be focused on a career. DH and I were planning on breaking up after college. We talked about it a few times and each time we talked about it there was no reason to. We were happy and in love. We got engaged and after receiving my masters I decided to take a break for a bit. I do plan on going back for my Psy. D at some point. Maybe in 2-3 years. We also already bought our first house a few months back. I don't know if the life is any better or worse than what I had pictured, but I am happy with my life and I think that is important.

It's not how I 'thought' it could be, but definitely how I 'hoped' it would be. I'm seriously the happiest and luckiest girl in the world. I've graduated from Medical School, I'm married to the MOST incredible man in the universe and my friends and family are all happy and healthy. It's absolutely perfect!!

Re: Is your life the way you thought it would be?
I tried to never have a plan cause I didn't want to be disappointed if it didn't happen.....but the only thing I always assumed was I wouldn't get married until I was at least 30 and we'd live in an apartment for a few years until we had the money for a house. Well we bought a house a year before we got married and we were married 6 months after my 30th b-day !! So close enough to my 'non-plan'

Re: Is your life the way you thought it would be?
Original plan: -Stay in the south after college -Get married by 24-25 -Teach dance
Plan, take 2: -Go to PT school, work as physical therapist for a dance company -Not get married for a long time
What really happened: -Move to NY -Met amazing guy from LI -Work at a college, but not teaching -Married at 29
And I wouldn't change my life for anything - I am happier than ever!!

Re: Is your life the way you thought it would be?
To be honest, I never thought I would get married.. I had one serious relationship from when I was 17-23 and then didn't really date for years after that.. just hooked up here and there.. I never thought I was the marrying type bc I never had a real boyfriend.. So I guess I was wrong... Not such a bad thing being an old married broad now!!!
