I have NO MONEY to take my dog to the vet. But some of the thick, black stuff on one of her paw pads is ripped off. I tried to put neosporin on it but she just licks it off. I also give her doggy aspirin (she is always getting her nails stuck on things and then they break, so I invested in some aspirin for her). Does anyone know if this is bad??? Do I need to take her to the vet?? (pleaseeeee no)

Eh, if I call them, they will say, bring her in She isn't limping, she is just licking it a lot - and if I go near it, she flinches and she licks her lips a lot, which she does when something is bothering her -- I've seen it before. But otherwise she seems ok - not complaining, sleeping well (she sleeps A LOT and it doesn't seem to have disturbed her pattern) and she even runs in the backyard - so I guess she is ok.
Jenna, good to hear your mom's dog's pad grew back. I have no idea how this happened!!!!
I know what you mean. I work at a Vets office and the Dr. always says...tell them to bring him/her in...and sometimes its sooo unecessary. There are many things you can do with simple problems that dont involve bringing in your dog. GRRR...
