Thanks ladies...i know exactly why i feel the way i feel and am hopeful that i will just get over it soon lol.

Unfortunately, I feel like it's not gonna just get better that I have to take an active role in MAKING it better. Y a know?

so im guessing that whatever it is thats making you jealous isnt an easy fix huh?

You're human - it's normal to be jealous. You just gotta focus on what you have, what you are and pride yourself on that! And sometimes it doesnt hurt to think that there are others who are jealous of you!!

Trust me, I get jealous of my friends who are still living care free lives and going on vacation in December without me...but this is the way my life panned out & i wouldnt trade my hubby for anything!

But like Christine said, it definitely helps to vent about it. If not girls like us here, can Brad help?
Or you can write about it...i know, journals sound so juvenile..but they could definitely help!!

If ya need to chat, FM me or find me on FB

ITA! It's completely normal to feel jealous sometimes. Try to just think about all the positive things in your life. And like pp said, if all else fails, hit something!

My advice is to think that everything may or may NOT be what it seems.
Don't be jealous of others b/c you never know what is really going on in their lives and if you would really be truly happy in that other persons shoes.

Get knocked up, that should do it.

OK, that was probably out of line, but all joking aside, by nature I can be a very jealous and bitter person, so I completely understand your feelings. It's really hard to deal with most of the time, especially if you already tend to have low self esteem issues, which I certainly lean towards as well. When I get bent out of shape about seeing other girls with better wedding pictures, going on HMs when I didn't, contemporaries making more money than I do, living in nice big houses straight after the wedding whereas I do not, being generally prettier than I am, having 'charmed' lives with husbands that actually seem to love them and having babies and being happy, when I feel I'm poor, ugly, and unloved, and gypped, it's really hard to come out of that funk.

Right now I'm dealing with someone who has a really big chip on their shoulder and is doing some viciously immature things to me, because they're taking personal offense to something that has nothing to do with them. I.e., a jealous freakout. And I see how ugly that looks, and how everyone is rolling their eyes at them, and then I realize that that's probably what people do to ME when I get that way. So that's a really good way to try to snap out of it...take a step back and think about how you react towards people when they get in a jealous rage, and think to yourself, would I want people reacting that way to me? With a combination of pity and contempt?

Another thing I try to do when I get down on myself with jealousy, even though it's really petty, it kind of helps... You don't ALWAYS have to be PC and goodie...sometimes, you just need to take care of yourself emotionally, regardless of the means...but I say to myself, ok, I'm jealous of this person because of X (they make more money, they're prettier, they have things I don't, etc.)...but this is why I'M better (I'm the favored in the family, *I* make more money, I'm smarter, I'm thinner, etc. Like I said, it's not a very NICE way of dealing with the jealousy...but if it even temporarily makes yourself feel better about yourself, it usually eradicates the jealousy. They might have a baby, but I have a career. They might have a house but are house poor whereas I'm comfortable and can come and go as I please and treat myself to restaurants, clothing, etc.

I know this was really long, but it's funny that you mentioned this because I'm really struggling with the same issues right now too, so it struck a nerve. If you need to vent, please FM me!

Don't think this way, really. It is soo true, trust me that there are people who are jealous of what you have and they don't. I think all of us look at someone's else's life and think 'wow I wish I could have what they have, look like them, whatever' and I'm sure someone has said it about your life. From personal experience, the grass is not always greener. A girl I went to college with and HS with blurted out when she was drunk that she hated me in High School..and for no reason. We never even spoke to each other until we ended up in college together, and the reason she hated me, she was jealous. So don't let any envious feelings make you dislike the person. I have one area of my life I would like to improve on, and I can say facebook does not help because I can sit there for hours and look and say 'wow look at this person and I don't have this or that' and be bummed out about it. So really, try to think of all the things and people you have in your life that make you happy

Re: Jealousy.

First of all We're al girls and yes, girls get jealous from time to time.

My advice is to focus on the positives and what YOU have, and not get so focused on what someone else has..

Focusing on the positive will eventually get those feelings to fade away.

Just know that it's totally normal and it will pass eventually.

FM me if you ever need to vent, I'm here for you!!

I get jealous sometimes too. Focusing on the positive is really the best way to remind yourself that you have some great things too.

Also, from my experience sometimes the things we're jealous of other people for aren't always that great when you a. look at the situation more carefully and/or b. you get those things you're jealous of.
