Ladies i could really use some help!

Well i know its been quite a while since ive posted things have been REALLY CRAZY!!!!!!! The job i LOVED is turing out to be one heck of a disaster! im so upset i can not sleep at night things have gone from candyland to HELL i didnt knwo what was the right thing to do. And after alot of cry and thought DH an i decided that i should not be STARTING my career and be coming home SICK everytime i work and leave the house on my way there with knots in my tummy! so the decision is to RESIGN! i really want to but im not sure im making the right move everyone besides my mother thinks im doing the right thing!

so i could use some help with my letter of resignation. I was told my a handful of people that since im not off probation im only required to give one weeks notice since i do not have any vacation/sick/personal time.

Please help. I know the professional thing is prob to give 2 weeks. But in the health care field it is 1 month. But since probation is still in effect i was told those dont apply.

Aww I am so sorry to hear. I think a lot of us have been in this sticky situation. As for the letter I have a sample but I was wondering are you telling them the truth as to why you are resigning or do you want it to sound mutual? Do they know you are unhappy there?

I'm so sorry to hear that How formal do you want the letter to be?

Here's an example if you want to make it short and sweet:

Dear ______________,

I want to thank you for the opportunity to ______
(work with you at ______ OR work at _______etc).
I have learned so much here and it has contributed so much to my growth as a/an _____.
After much thought and consideration, I have (received another opportunity elsewhere that is more in line with my goals OR have made the decision to take another position elsewhere that is more in line with my goals).
My last day at ____________ will be (day of week and the date).

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

_____________

Good luck and hope that helps

I was the same way when I resigned in Feb and started my new job.. part of me wanted to stay because it was just so much easier.. even though I had another job in hand, I never really had to give in a letter.. but they made my life miserable.. and I was doing double the work since my boss resigned and they said there were grooming me for the postion and went and hired someone over my head..

so listen to your gut, and you just got married, expenses might be there and what not, but your health and mental health is far more important..

I am so sorry that you are going through with this. Although it is very hard to resign just think that it will be for the better of your health. I was in a job like that and the releif that you will feel after you are no longer there a paycheck can not match. You are doing the right thing. Your health and sanity comes first.

Aw im sorry your going through this! That place is just not for you, and its ok. There are sooo many other places you can work at. Take this time to do some extra research. Hand in the letter and be strong and stand your ground. You will be perfectly fine

Oh man Meg that really stinks!!! I know how much you were excited for starting the new job but health care is a growing field...I'm sure you'll find something else. For now, talk to you supervisor and try to be as professional as possible about everything and keep your eyes open for any new opportunities! GOOD LUCK CHICK! You'll be fine!

You are definitely doing the right thing. A job shouldn't make you so stressed out that you are sick. I know you will get another and better job! Good luck!
