Re: Let's talk cookies.
We've already made chocolate chip and peanut butter. Next weekend I think we're doing just sugar cookies, maybe red velvet cookies, and oatmeal raisin.

Re: Let's talk cookies.
I told MIL I would bake some things for xmas eve.No idea what though!
I think she wants me to make Teri's peanut butter cup cookies (they are in the 2010 shower cookbook- soo good). She liked them when I made them for thanksgiving.
I might also try a kitkat cake.

Re: Let's talk cookies.
My mom and I spend an entire weekend baking every year. This year it'll be the weekend of the 10th and 11th.We're making:
Rainbow cookies
Pignoli cookies
Peanut butter blossom cookies
Oatmeal raisin cookies
Thumbprint cookies
Mint chocolate shortbread cookies
Snickerdoodles
Red Velvet cake balls
Fudge
Toffee
Raspberry oat bars
Lemon bars
And probably something sweet and salty - one year they were cookies dipped in chocolate and crushed potato chips.

Re: Let's talk cookies.
Anything for you ladies!! This recipe is compliments of Betty Crocker!
Enjoy!!!
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon red food color
1 egg
3/4 to 1 cup Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, stir cookie mix, cocoa, butter, sour cream, food color and egg until soft dough forms.
2. Roll dough into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until set. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
4. Frost cooled cookies with frosting. Sprinkle with nuts. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
Now this recipe, I've never tried, but they look good and I figured who doesn't love a good Whoopie Pie?!

Cookies
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® Devil’s Food cake mix
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 tablespoons red food color
1 box (4-serving size) chocolate instant pudding and pie filling mix
Filling
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1. Heat oven to 350° F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or lightly spray with cooking spray.
2. In large bowl, beat cookie ingredients with electric mixer on low speed until moistened; beat 1 minute longer on high speed. Drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls 2 inches apart onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until set (do not overbake). Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
4. In large bowl, beat filling ingredients with electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy. For each cookie pie, spread about 1/4 cup filling on bottom of 1 cooled cookie. Top with blueberries, raspberries and second cookie, bottom side down.
Happy baking!
