Living together before Marriage

Hi girls. I'm not technically married yet (6/18), but have been living with FH for about 4 1/2 years now. Has anyone else been in this situation? and if so, does get different, or stay the same? Obviously, we're not going to have the excitement of living together for the first time, but what else should I expect? Thanks Girls.

DH and I lived together for 2 1/2 yrs before we got married. Things kinda stayed the same in terms of our relationship. The only thing that changed was that we combined our money more. That has definitely been stressful for us but we've worked it through.

We lived together about 4 years before we were married. I was very happy not to have to deal with the adjustment of living together for the first time after the wedding....it was a stressful time for us so I was happy to have it over when we came home from the honeymoon.

Nothing has changed for us. We were as committed to each other before we got married as we are now...so I dont feel any differently on that end. We were happy before and were happy after the fact. Obviously we talk more about family planning and moving options etc...

We lived together for one year before getting married...and for the most part things stayed the same.

We lived together for 3 1/2 years before we got married, and it absolutely stayed the same!

We lived together for 2yrs before, the only thing that changed was we opened up a joint account.

We lived together for 6+ years before getting married, and honestly, yeah, it did stay about the same, but didn't feel like we missed out on anything. We still had the excitement of being newly married w/o the stress of learing to live with each other.

We lived together a year before and it feels no different to me afterwards. Feels like we have been married for a year and half instead of 3 months!

We lived together for almost 3 years before the wedding. Nothing changed. But we had alot of nice new stuff in our house

We lived together 2.5 years before we got married. In that time we even bought a house and lived together. Some things do seem different and some things are the same. Either way, the happiness of being husband and wife will be there.

Me and DH lived together for 2 years before getting married and nothing changed for us. We brought a house together before being married and had a joint account too prior to getting married...so no nothing really changed for us except my last name.

ETA - However, when we originally moved in together there was a lot of getting use to him.

I agree. Adjusting to living together was HUGE especially after I was living alone and he was living w/a roommate. It was hard for me to have to share my space. I'd say it took about a year adjust.

Obviously, my name will change and our bank accounts will be joined. He's so cute, he's calling me wife already and saying things like 'you have to because I'm your husband'.

We lived together for almost 2 years before we got married, it was right around the time we got engaged.

Nothing changed except we have wedding pics in our apartment.

We lived together for 6.5 years before our wedding day. We were 28 & 29 when we got married.

We have been dating for 10 years and move in 6 months before we got married. I am glad I move in with my husband before we got married because it certain things I didn't know about him such as he is a slob. Although my parents didn't like the idea they wanted us to wait until we offically got married.

Personally for me nothing vhanged and I AM HAPPY about that...
Yes it is exciting to first live together but it is also a BIG adjustment....so i am glad we did that pre-wedding

DH and I lived together for about 4 years before the wedding. The first year wasn't easy so I'm glad we were past that stage by the time we got married. Nothing changed much after the wedding.
