Re: Maui Wowee!

Lucky you! Have a wonderful vacation!!

I think that's the Hyatt I stayed at in Maui (on Ka'anapali Beach). It's very, very nice. Great smoothies from the swim up bar!

You'll be there during prime whale watching season. My sister/BIL had an amazing time on one of the tours offered in Lahaina. I was there in July, so missed out.

Haleakala is beautiful at sunrise. I did the bike tour down, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again. It was fun, but a little nerve wracking.

Lots of good snorkling tours. Molokini is a submerged crater with tons of fish to see, but it's teeming with snorklers. I had a better time at the lesser known places. The tour we took was run by Trilogy tours.

I was on the island about 6 years ago and can't remember any restaurants by name. I do recall that food was fairly expensive (NYC-ish prices, at least).

Have a blast! It'll be hard not to!!

Hmmm...tell me, why is it that I cannot imagine that YOU (Ms. Planner) have nothing to wear I'm sure all you'll need is a bathing suit, sarong and some sandals...oh and a sun hat and glasses

This trip was totally unplanned - we just thought of it and booked it last week. Do you know how hard it is to find flattering things to wear in warm weather when its cold in NY??

Yes, my dear....I sooo DO! We just decided to go to south Florida and Key West in 3 weeks, and now I am on a similar hunt for warm weather clothes! I feel your pain, baby!

Re: Maui Wowee!

Let me know if you find anything. Im having such a hard time. Old Navy has a bunch of spring stuff out but their capris fit me like a potato sack.

Banana has some capris that are $80 each. Ok, yea right.

And forget bathing suits. Everything I find has horizontal stripes. Who in the world looks good in horizontal stripes? If there are people that do, im not one of them.

Try finding maternity summer clothes right now!!! You don't even want to know how much I spent on my Gap.com order - it was the only place that had a decent selection for me!

Teri - did you try Old Navy? They have a big Maternity section now. And way cheaper than Gap.

I dont have any suggestions in Hawaii but that is great that you can go on such short notice! My office would not go for that..

Anyway - I was just in the Jcrew rock center during lunch and they have some cute spring/summer stuff already.

Also - to read: I am reading A Painted House and that is good so far..

Just finished Blood Orchid - a really fast-paced Stuart Woods novel.

Re: Maui Wowee!

have a great time stef!

we had drinks at sunset at the hyatt lounge/bar- it was beautiful!

we also loved whale watching! we used the pacific whale foundation. the boat leaves out of lahaina- we booked in advance for a morning trip- i believe it was two hours.

we also did the road to hana, of course. but we had crappy weather that day.

some of our favorite restaurants on maui:
nick's fishmarket in the kea lani hotel
mama's fish house
(both far drives from the hyatt & you probably need reservations)

we also spent a full day driving around the west coast of maui & stopping at the various beaches. the maui revealed book was very helpful in finding hidden beaches.

can't wait to hear all about your trip!

their clothes fit me terribly! I was never a huge fan to begin with, but their capris and pants are hideous on me!

Their tees are fine so I bought a few of them
