I mentioned this in another thread last week..but im having a very bad week so I need to post this to cheer myself up

Going to Maui next week - I cant wait! We used our frequent flyer miles to get there - too bad business class was all full b/c that would have be soooo sweet!!

Loved the Lahaina Grill definitely go there.

Also you can just go to the top of Haleakela and see the sunrise it is amazing!!!

I liked the road to Hana and even swam in one of the seven sacred pools

I read the Devil Wears Prada on my honeymoon and loved it - it was very funny and light and perfect for a beach read!

Stef - I believe the name of the restaurant is the Bay Club. It's not far from Hyatt - if you're renting a car it's just about 10 mins North I think.

THe Bay Club is a smaller condo/villa resort but it's tucked away and not really touristy. The dinner was on the pricier side but oh so worth it!

Your second picture, the one overlooking the water and pool is exactly where our room was with that exact view.

Teri - The swim up bar was close for us too. They were redoing the pool and half of it was closed.

Enjoy! I think we had a drink at the restaurant that Teri mentioned, very nice. There are so many nice restaurants.

If you like sushi the best place to go is called San Sei and it is reasonable.. The valet at the four seasons told us to order the rock shrimp appetizer...

It was amazing... (as well as the sushi)

Enjoy all the oher places that were mentioned were fantastic too.

If you want to go to the Big Island, call ahead to their Volcano National Park's hotline and see if the volcano's eruption is visable. When we were there, it was pouring (even though it was hot and dry on the other side of the island) and you could only see the lava flow from a helicopter (which they weren't flying because of the rain.) Even though we didn't see lava it was still cool to see, but just FYI if you want to see actual lava flow.

Hmmm...tell me, why is it that I cannot imagine that YOU (Ms. Planner) have nothing to wear I'm sure all you'll need is a bathing suit, sarong and some sandals...oh and a sun hat and glasses

Stef - Congrats on your trip to Maui!!! Have a great time! ( I am sooo jealous!!) Make sure you have dinner at least once at Nick's Fishmarket at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon and the place is absolutely gorgeous! Nick's Fishmarket is one of the restaurants there and it is fabulous. One of the best on the island! Definitely try it!!

This trip was totally unplanned - we just thought of it and booked it last week. Do you know how hard it is to find flattering things to wear in warm weather when its cold in NY??
