Montauk Question

Hey guys...it's been awhile since i've posted. my 1 year anniversary is coming up! and i want to surprise my DH with a weekend in Montauk. he's always wanted to go there. I can only afford 1 night (we just bought a house). So doesn't anyone know of a nice motel or an inexpensive hotel in the downtown area of montauk? i really know nothing about the place.

thanks!

Re: Montauk Question

What a fun idea!

We went to Montauk when we first started dating, but only for the afternoon. And we didn't eat there.

So basically, I'm no help!

But I can't believe your 1 year anniv. is coming up already.

Good thing he doesn't check this site too!

Re: Montauk Question

I stayed at the Albatross in Montauk last fall. It was actually when Montauk got hit with the tail end of Hurricane Noel! We had a great time and want to go back this fall. The rooms are not 5 star by any means but it is very quaint and the rooms are sleepable. It's a really beachy place.
It is within walking distance to the bars and resturants. We loved it!

The pic is of us on the back deck of our room.

Thanks...i just emailed them and wrote back 'we do a 2 night minimum on weekends with weekend rates varying from $225 to $285.' That's crazy! And I want to do in the off season.

I looked at the calendar. We stayed Saturday Nov 3rd, 2007. And left on the 4th. It was just a one night excursion! I actually called them because the weather was so bad but we just wanted to get away.....and asked them for an early check in...instead of 1 because we knew we had to leave East Islip early or we would have really gotten hit with the rain out there. And they let us check in at like 10am.

Re: Montauk Question

I think the $225 is for the whole weekend - not the per night rate. You should call and speak with someone.

If you are looking for a great place for dinner .. I highly recomment Harvest on Fort Pond right in Montauk.

Don't know of any hotels to suggest, but wanted to let you know that Harvest is really a good place for dinner!

Can't wait to see the new house! Love ya!
