My album layout is in!!! UPDATED with their CHANGES on page 2!

Now I'm re-thinking this page


Are the two pictures on the bottom right too similar? I love the one on the left - it's one of my fave shots. What do you think? Should I remove the one on the right? Or keep them both? Change the layout?

The ONLY reason I'd say to change this...is that when you close the book, the crease will be down the center of you two.

I agree on the blue

as for the corset page.....what if you take the shoe/invitation/Bo-k Picture used that as the background.....take out the bridal party pic...make one side of the page of you getting ready and the other side of you ready and staring out the window. Did I make sense? lol

other then that I LOVE IT and you make me realize what a slacker I am!

omg looks great!!! the album does NOT look cluttered!!!

you picked out some wonderful pics and they did a great job with your layout

are you going to make any changes?

I love that pic-but I agree that unless its the flushmount which lies perfectly flat, might be weird-and even then that line/crease will be down your center-might want to consider that. Maybe they can position it better to accomodate that? I like the shot you said is a fave but the other is very similar. Is there one from the church that you like that maybe takes place outside on the grounds? Something with a diff 'scenery' that still ties into the feel.

When i was trying to design ours was suuuch a pain lol so I feel yours. I did realize you don't necessarily have to go 'in order' though-like if you find a close up shot of you guys that fits that pages 'feel' use it-doesn't matter if its from another point during the day-a kissing shot would be good there.

As for the flowers on that blue middle page...yea a lot of em lol. Um what if they used just sky there? Or water or some kind of marina background from your dayy? I think they meant the blue to emulate sky and sea, but the rings look out of place there-like they are floating in space because its a flat color. If its a softer, more faded out background, I think it will flow better because both pictures are sea and sky-the solid color is too harsh. You need the middle to bridge the two photos so the page is more seamless and then you can appreciate all the photos together rather than seeing them so seperated by the blue.

I think the album is really nice. but some of the pages with the really small pics seem busy.
It made me think to ask you these ??
My photog has his prices listed by 'image' which makes me think it soesn't matter if I do 50 8x10 on 50 pages or 1 8x10 with smaller clustered with it. When I go talk to him I might find out differently .
So Is your place charging by pages/sizes of pics - - cause could you for the same price say put the photo of you in church as large pic with smaller one with it and maybe add another from that time?
just a thought.
But you did a really nice job of capturing the different parts of the day with such nice pics. hope mine is as nice.

From what I can tell, it's going to be split between Brett and the guys on the right, and that doesn't really bother me. But I wonder if it will once I see it in print! it's hard to tell!

They charge by page- and they suggested when choosing your pics, you consider a limit of 3 pictures per page.

Oh if its split there should be fine-only thing that might look weird is like a 'double break' because it will be so close to the white bordered photos but if its flush mount it really shouldnt be too noticeable. I love the ones of you together in long vertical stripes..thats a great page.

Tara, for the first page, why not ask them to remove the blue middle and enlarge the rings pic but make it slightly faded and have that take up the middle space? I think it would make it flow better. That, or maybe just change to a Navy blue with white pinstripe?


For this page below, I'd recommend that you use the b/w silhouette by the window shot as a full page on the right, overflowing on the left hand side. Then overlay four pictures on the left page - I'd probably go with the three pics that are there (other than the silhouette shot) and the corset shot that was used as the big background pic originally.


For this pic, I'd ask them to change the coloring of the stained glass window in the background so that it looks more like their original colors other than the pastel it looks like now - I knew it was stained glass, but only after I stared at it for a bit and someone else mentioned they didn't even know what it is - it almost looks like streamers if you don't look closely enough, but with their original colors it might be more evident.


For this pic, why not remove the small right pic that is similar to the left and replace with another picture. Or you could ask them to make that pic (the one you really like) as the large picture on the left page, then on the right side have the exit picture and overlay the posed inside the church pic on either side.


I just noticed that this page has a horizontal line that cuts across the top left b/w faded pic. Would you consider asking them to just remove that horizontal line? The other pics will blend in so I don't think you need the line, no?


The album looks great overall, but follow your gut with changes cuz once it's done, it's yours forever!

btw, can I ask how many pictures you submitted to Duet? I didn't even think about it that they'd limit the # of pages, and therefore they might be cramming more in. I also wanted to ask you, did you strictly go off of the printed proofs they gave you for the album? or did you peruse the disc as well? I have quite a few contenders from the disc, which is making things even more complicated to choose! and I think I've officially given up on trying to get my TY's done by Christmas!

yes it does!! thank you! we also negotiated the # up to 70! that gives me a good idea of around how many pics per page they'd be doing. one other question- the background pics- did they pull those from some that you chose? (like zooming in) or did do the flowers/ stained glass etc. on their own by just going through the proofs? that's probably a stupid question, but I'm so clueless w/ this.
