My Kitchen - Before and After (partially complete)

Here's what the kitchen looked like before we closed...these are builder's cabinets, linoleum and horrible backsplash tiles that look like they are more appropriate for a bathroom than your kitchen! Blech!

And here's what it looks like today! Again, it's still a work in progress, but I wanted to show the difference, with all the recent kitchen questions

We still need to install the ceramic tile backsplash (it will match the floor in color and texture, but will be in a diamond pattern), floor mouldings and some other finishing touches. Follow this link to see the progression of the project...

Can I ask what finish the knobs and pulls are? I having been searching all over for an antiqued copper that I like with no luck. I may try Simons Hardware in the city....

Hi Kate - how are you? The knobs are antiqued pewter finish and we ordered them from MyKnobs.com

Claud the difference is amazing. I know the work that goes into the kitchen remodel, so I have a real appreciation for anyone who has been through it!!

Great job. Eeek! Your before kitchen looks better than my before kitchen. But the after nics are gorgeous.

I love the lid drawer and those cabinet handles are FAB!!!

Really nice.

I really like how the floor is laid out in a more random pattern. And the leafy hardware is perfect.

How do you like the faucet off to the right like that? And what about the recessed lights? I love the look but do they provide enough light? Do you have any lighting under the cabinets?

Claud ... you guys did a fabulous job. It looks great. I can totally relate ... the before and the after!

Stef ... I have the recessed lights too - two over the sink, two over the island - I love them and do think they give off enough lighting. Plus, we have the fan light.
And my faucet is to the right too. It takes some getting used to, but I actually like it. To put the faucet in the middle, I would have had to get a small sink!
