So DH just called me from work and asked me out to dinner, which normally anyone else would be happy. Except Im convinced I have this weird phobia...or paranoia since I was a teen , Im not sure what you call it.
I hate going out without any makeup at all and my hair not done. (ie, not straightened) I have dark circles under my eyes to the point that I will freak out and be really self conscious if I go out without at LEAST concealer and lip gloss.
And as far as my hair, if I washed it, but didn't flat iron it, I will wear a hat instead of wearing it curly cause Im that self conscious about my wavy hair, especially now that its very short (my hairstyle is condusive only to straight hair, but I knew that going in)
Anywho, my point is, I actually get irritable when DH wants to go out and I don't because I just don't FEEL like doing myself up and going thru the whole makeup and hair routine just to go to dinner. Its ridiculous, and I know it. But Im so self conscious that people will look at me if I dont.
Does anyone have the makeup/hair complex when going out, or Im I the only freak???

I HATE going out without makeup on. Especially foundation because my skin is a pain in the asss and I'm self concious about it. I don't care as much about my hair, but I always have makeup on. I've got the whole routine down to a science so I can do it in the car if I'm in a rush, but it gets done no matter what.

only in the last year or two have i even cared about doing makeup. not to sound like i'm all that.... ...but i have always had really good skin...no blemishes or being too oily and such. so i have been able to get away with maybe a little lip gloss and thats it--for awhile.
but now that i'm getting older--i feel like the dark spots under my eyes are a little much. so i wear make up much more than i ever did when we go out. but there have been plenty of times when i don't have makeup on or my hair all fancy and i go out anyway. doesn't really bother me too much unless i know we're going out with a lot of friends and stuff or to a nice restaurant/bar....cause i don't want to be the odd one out
but when DH says 'hey babe lets go to the sports bar after work' i don't feel like i have to do my make up and hair. (i don't wear makeup to work)

I wear makeup every day but i do NOT do my hair in the summer LOL i wear it up in a clip
I CAN go out without make up but i DO feel self conscious about it - i am leaving for camping on Friday and the other girls told me i BETTER not bring makeup bc it would just be wierd and i have to admit i was a little freaked out.
Then they wanted to hit up a diner on the way home and THAT made me feel worse - but i will do it. . .even though i dont like it
i have terrible circles under my eyes too - that is what bothers me the most
i wish i cared MORE about my hair - i straighten it all the time in the winter but i just CANT in the summer!

maybe i'm a huge freak - but this is my middle name lol
i almost NEVER wear makeup (unless i have a HUGE pimple on my face or am going out out) and unless i'm going someplace special, i usually just throw my hair up in a bun or let it air dry straight from the shower

you & me both. i never, EVER wear makeup...my skin is way too wonky...
my hair - it air dries in the morning and that's about it...

i wear a little makeup every day, so I especially HATE when I'm out somewhere and someone that sees me on a regular basis feels it necessary to say, 'wow, are you feeling ok? you don't look right.'

Me too! I actually just cut my hair and hate that I have to dry it now in the morning! But I can't be bothered with makeup!!

ooooh and my other weird thing...... I'll wear my eyeglasses out to cover up the fact that I didnt put on consealer, but then that causes a problem b/c If I wear my glasses , I wont wear a hat. Its either hat OR glasses but never ever both. So I basically F-myself over LOL. ...GOTTA do the hair or the makeup...cant go without both. That would freak me out. I cant believe Im typing this, Im a nut!!! Its one of those self conscious phobias I have no idea why I have!!

I let my hair air dry all the time and if it is really unruly then I just put it back in a ponytail. As for makeup if I am going somewhere special then I put makeup on, but if I am just running everyday errands then I just put a little powder on and some lipgloss and I am good to go.

This is exactly why i love living in california - zero humidity - which means when i do my hair it stays perfect for atleast 4 days without me doing anything to it. So my hair is always done.
If im going out to dinner with FH and its some place thats nice or if were going out with friends i absolutely will not go if i dont have any m/u on or if my hair is not done as shallow as that may sound. I become way to self conscious about the way i look and just feel gross.
But if im just running day to day errands or going to school i just put on some bronzer and lipgloss and then im good to go.

about a year ago i had to have bronzer, eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss, now: the only thing i need is bronzer - but i wouldnt go out to a smancy fancy restaurant looking like crap - lol - i just get soo lazy

If I am going out to run errand, I don't care about my hair but I do put bare minerals to cover up some of my blemishes and a little lip gloss. I would not go out to dinner if I didn't do my hair and makeup.

I guess as I've gotten older, it doesn't bother me as much. I don't go out w/o mu often, even if I just take a big brush and put some bronzer on so I don't look pale, then I'll just throw some lip gloss on in the car. NEVER too busy for a lil gloss!!
But, Donna, I think we have the same hairstyle and I wear it curly every once in awhile- it actually looks cute and I get a ton of compliments on it. If I'm 'going out' then it will always be straight, but if I don't have time to straighten and it's something last minute, I'll wear it curly. Try it!!

I'll do it once in a while, and it doesn't bother me when I do. Usually when I am grocery shopping and have nothing else to do for the rest of the day. If I have to choose between hair or makeup, I always choose hair.

I very rarely wear makeup...I could say with certainty that the only time this year I had makeup on were for my shower (b/c my sister conned me into a trial) and the wedding

YES! First of all, my hair is never done unless I'm going somewhere special (out to dinner, party). Everyday I wash it, part it and throw is in a low pony tail wet.
I also frequently go out in the day without MU. If I have the time I do put some on.
All and all, I don't mind not wearing it, but I def. feel much better about myself when I have it on. If I have the time I will take the time to put in on. If I don't then I'm okay with it too.
I have to say, I do look much better with mu on! I'm no one of those people that look the same with and without!

Yes I can wing it - I have my makeup w/me at all times - I can freshen up in any bathroom hair striaght ,a bit wavy whateve. Do I like it NO I 'd much rather have the time to get dolled up
Usually by time I have a couple of w/out the turkey I could care less what I look like or who is looking at me
