my poor puppy

Yesterday DH left a bag of chocolate covered coffee beans on the counter and my cat knocked them off and Izzy helped herself to half a bag

I was picking my parents up from JFK and he was watching the ranger game at a bar so we both didn't get home till 10:30. I panicked since nothing like this has ever happened

I called poison control for dogs and they told me to take her to the emergency vet ASAP because the chocolate could cause a heart attack and the coffee beans could cause seizures...it honestly was the worst night of my life. I can't imagine how hard it is having kids because I cried all night that I had to leave her and that this happened

800 dollars later she is still there , I don't even care about the money I just want her better and home

i wish i would've known this! you're supposed to give them hydrogen peroxide to make them throw up. that's what the vet had us do with sophie when she ate the rat poison. my friend had to do the same thing when her pug ate a chocolate cake

omg, I would freak out too!! I am so sorry hun.

A girl I work with had this happen once, and she called poison control and they told her to like force Peroxide down the puppy's throat, and literally shake them. It helps them throw it all up.

I just hope your puppy will be okay.

I'm sorry jess I'm glad izzie is going to be ok though. It's so scary when they're sick, you feel so helpless. Poor Izzie

They did an EKG last night and that looked good. the biggest concern is the coffee beans since they wouldnt show symptoms until 24 hours. When I called poison control they said not to induce vomiting because of the coffee beans

aww little Izzy!!!!!!!!!!!! The poor puppy...I hope she is doing well now. I am with you though, I wouldn't even care about the money at this point because her health is what is important to you!!! I would do the same for Gunner

But this reminds me, last V-day Gunner ate a heart shaped box of chocloates (there were like 4 chocolates in there). He was fine though I didn't even think to make him vomit. But a year later he is still around I am a bad mommy
