My surprise honeymoon was to....

....
Saint Barth! I learned at the airport we were flying into St. Maarten, but I had already been there (part of the plan was we couldn't go anywhere either of us had been). Shawn made me wait until we were in the air, sitting in first class, with a Bloody Mary in hand all about what he had planned:

Quick details: We stayed in a hilltop villa overlooking the ocean. St Barth is so clean and so pristine - it really was heaven on earth. St. Barth is the perfect mix of peace and quiet & trendy and chic.


Did anyone else go here on their honeymoon? We met like 5 couples who had been there on their honeymoon and returned numerous times. I am sure we will too...when the dollar is a little stronger!

The island is little but there is lots to do - 20 beaches (so we did a different one everyday) and LOADS of top notch world class restaurants. There is alot of night life, but we didn't make it up that late! It's very romantic. Clean - no people trying to sell you things or anything.

We snorkeled, did a few touristy things but mostly hung around the villa, read, tried to make a baby (I got my period on the plane ride home)...

Yes it is very expensive - but comparable to the hamptons (where we live anyway - so that didn't surprise us) - so moslty it was really expensive because the dollar is so weak.

Did you guys have to clean the room the whole time or was there a service.

I guess you ate out to all different restaurants all week long
What was the dollar anyway. curious.
Is that French owned?

There was a maid service that came everyday.

We ate out all week long, but made breakfast at home and if we went back, would probably buy fresh fish and then make more dinners.

The dollar was worth .59 to the Euro. At best .62 cents.
It is a French island, but they accept dollars and everyone speaks English (but French is predominant)...but you feel like you're in little France.


It is very chic and trendy but relaxing and peaceful at the same time. Very pristine.

so the dollar was not Franks. b/c that is what it was in FP. We had awful experiences with the French. It annoyed me so
My list could go on and on and on..
Our dollar was worse when we traveled. It was something like .78 to there dollar and it was dropping every day


Anyway the place sounds lovely .. Post pics soon if you want
