I'm sorry you're going thru this. Honestly, if your mom has always been like this, then I doubt that telling you to sit her down and talk to her about it will work. On the other hand, I do think that she is being immature and maybe you should explain the whole situation to your father so he can talk to her about it.. this way, he's on your side and understands what happens. I always feel like.. if 2 people are on the same side.. and they live together.. then no matter what, you're always in the wrong.. but if one of those people understands fully what happened.. then maybe he/she can point the other in the right direction.

Just a thought.

My MIL is the same but different. She's much more passive/aggressive but similar in the sense that its often a lose-lose situation. I watch most of it from afar, thank goodness, but I hear your frustration. Hang in there...chin up! Kinda at a loss in terms of advice. Take a few deep breaths and let her cool down.

Thanks for the suggestion- but that wouldn't work. my father tries to be 'switzerland' i mean, lots of times its them butting heads and me being in the middle.
and well.. he knows she's wrong, he just wants me to apologize so he doesn't have to hear her complain to him about me.
and he feels that i 'attack' my mother often...
so rather then fighting with him, or making them fight.. i'll just sit on it and wait till she comes around.

i refuse to apologize when the ONLY thing i did wrong was tell her to stop huffing, then yelled at her to get in the car.

i didn't curse her out in public and embarrass her.

we all know how she gets, so i know my father knows. but he wont take sides, cause if he takes my side... she'll give him hell.. and he has to live with her.

ps: sorry bout your little furbaby ... i wish i could take care of him for you but ferrets and birds don't mix well do you have any friends who wouldn't mind 'babysitting'?
