DH just called and told me he has to work on Thanksgiving (3-11pm).
Would you still stop in at the in-laws if he wasn't going to be around? I'm not really close with them, although I really like my SIL and BILs but they'll be in and out too...
I'd rather just stay with my family, but don't want to make a faux pas...

I'd say you should just make an appearance at the ILs. i'd just do it to save face and make sure they aren't offended---you are techincally family now.
go early--spend an hour or two--and then head to your folks for dinner and dessert! that way you went and its done
btw--stinks that DH has to work! as of right now my DH is off--but i'm crossing my fingers that he doesn't get a notification at the last minute!

If he doesn't have to work until 3pm.......can he go with you earlier in the day?? That way you can spend the rest of the time with your family and he still saw his........

This is what I was thinking. I'd head over there early with DH, stay for half an hour or an hour, then spend the rest of the day with your family.

Good idea Willie's Bride! The problem with popping over before I go to my family is that his family is wacky and they don't get things started til late...I mean, who eats Thanksgiving Dinner at 9pm?!?! lol

yea I would pop on over there w/ bagels or something and have breakfast, get it out of the way early. so sorry DH has to work!

Totally agree. You should def stop in, and even better if you can do it with your DH before he goes to work.
