Need to vent! (long...sorry)
I am so annoyed by the situation I can't even stand it. Poor DH got the large part of my venting but he just left to a meeting...
My Grandma is in a nursing home in Long Beach. She is a diabetic and has some other health issues as well. As a result of her diabetes she had to have one of her legs amputated a few years ago.
Fast forward to present....she was having pain in her other leg. The Dr.'s ordered an angiogram to see if there were blockages. That was more than a month ago. I kept asking my mom and aunt what the results were. Weeks went by and they had no answers.
Finally gram got a new Doc so we thought everything was ok. Turns out she was supposed to have stent surgery (something they put in to keep the vein/artery open to increase/sustain bloodflow) TWO WEEKS AGO!
So she's been hurting and losing circulation little by little for all this time. She may lose the other leg because of this.
I don't know who went wrong or where but MY GOD this is someone's life. The nurses there (not all of them) SUCKK! They don't care and are cold to the patients and don't treat the families with anywhere near the respect they deserve.
UGH! I am so frustrated and what makes it worse is I live in Rochester (as does my sister)
I think my mom is gong to take her to the ER tomorrow so at least she can be seen by her former Docs and hopefully something can still be done....
thanks for letting me vent...
