Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

It says there's going to be t-storms on my wedding day! Were the Farmer's Almanac predictions right for your wedding day?
Thanks!

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

Horribly inaccurate! And I think for most of the brides that were married in my month (May) it was wrong. Calling for rain on days it was perfectly sunny. My day called for sun an 70...I got a deluge!!!!!!!

Don't listen to the thing, it stinks. And most of all, don't worry about the weather, because in the end, it just does not matter. I promise!!!

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

mine called for T-storms the whole month of August. We had a nice warm sunny day.

I do have to say though, we've been printing out the almanac here at work, and so far it's been pretty accurate. Maybe it's more accurate during the winter months. It's hard to predict when a T-strom will happen since the atmosphere is so unstable during the summer.

Mine said there was going to be a huge rainstorm that weekend and it actually did happen but don't make yourself crazy over that!

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

I actually didn't check the almanac...I just figured what's going to happen will happen...and we had 20+ inches of snow!!!!!!!!!!!

ETS: The 20+ inches occurred over the entire weekend...we got married on a Sunday and it started snowing Friday morning and didn't stop until very early Sunday morning.

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

I researched one site for my day and was given a 6-7% change of precipition.

Then, a few days before the wedding, they were predicting torrential downpours!!!!

LUCKILY, the morning of our wedding is was GORGEOUS, warm and sunny!

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

Since this is the one thing you have absolutely no control over, try not to think about it. Weather can barely be forcasted 3 days in advance, I wouldn't waste time worrying over something this far out.

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

The farmers alamanac was so wrong on my day. They said it was going to be torrential downpours with hurricane like winds. My day was sunny and bright and warm (and we all know last summer was a bust with all the rain )

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

TOTALLY INACCURATE!

According to the almanac, the week of my weeding was supposed to be frigid...well, my wedding day was around 53 degrees, at the end of December!

ANYTHING is PoSSIBLE!

Re: Newleyweds - How Accurate were those Farmer's Almanac Predictions?

i don't think i even checked the almanac! i do remember checking the weather on-line and it said 30-40% chance of rain. we had the most beautiful day, ever - not a drop in sight. the people who got married the day after us got a rainy, super cold day. i never knew weather could change so much over one day!!!
