NEWLYWEDS OR THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE CHILDREN

Original post by shamma

Who will you choose as your children's godmothers and why, for those that has already made the decision, tell me why you chose the people you did.

IMHO, it is really difficult to find 'good' Godparents now-a-days!

I am not sure what we are going to do because I am not allowed anyone who has married outside the Catholic faith or been divorced/remarried. My church is pretty specific in what you can and cannot chose and until recently I never realized how many people that will eliminate! This is by far one of the most difficult choices we will be making in the next couple of weeks! The person that I really want, I can't have!

Iif you would re-read my post you would see that I mentioned that my brother is in a volitile relationship with his wife, which means that more often than not, the house is filled with hostility and sadly violent behavior from my sister in law (violent, disturbing outbreaks). Yes, I want my brother to be Godparent because of the special bond we share - he has been my rock and my savior on countless occasions. If his situation was different, I wouldn't think twice about it but his wife has some behavior issues that I would not feel comfortable subjecting my child to. It's bad enough to watch from the sidelines as my nieces are brought up in that environment. Intervention has not helped, only aggravated the situation at times.
