No gift??

Original post by Lizzie913

Hi everyone!

This is my very first post on the Newlyweds Board.

What do/did you do in regards to guest who did not give a card or gift? DH and I are worried that we misplaced them and just want to know if we did or not!!

Thanks
Liz

Re: No gift??

Yeah we had that situation.. and my moms cousin my second cousin who I never met.. said ' Hey laura I am artist I do charactures at sweet 16's my gift to you is a charactures of you and your new husband!' I just wanted to run away.. and hide.. from this guy..
we also had a total of 2 other people with 2 guests..no gift.. but they ate and drank the whole night away .. DH wants to send them card to insult them I say don't even bother..
the worst was the $50 gift card to Bed bath and beyond .. from two people.. its like why even bother?

I'm probably just going to write 'Thank you for coming to our wedding' and leave it at that.

My brother had a funny idea that still makes me laugh. He said I should get thank-you's pre-printed that say 'Thank you for coming to our wedding and thank you for your gift', and then for the people who didn't give a gift, take a pen & put a line through the part that says 'thank you for your gift.' I wish I had the balls to do that!

I think I have just changed my mind

HOLY! great idea.. we are doing it!!!!

We were stiffed by a few people. And they will NOT be getting a thank you.

one family member was a last-minute no show, and never sent a shower or wedding card.....

needless to say, NO TY!!!!

We had a bunch of people who didn't give us gifts. But then some people who weren't even invited got us gifts- so go figure.
