I AS WELL AS A LOT OF OTHERS DO NOT LIKE THE NW BOARD BEING TAKEN OVER BY ALL THE BHB QUESTIONS. I MUST SAY THE BRIDES ON HERE ARE VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND IF YOU GET AN ANSWER OVER THERE, LET ME SAY ITS IS GOOD. IF YOU ARE THEN NOT SATISFIED, THEN THIS SHOULD BE YOUR LAST/EMERGENCY RESORT.

I agree with Marcela - I LOVE THE 2004 board! I don't lose threads there and it is stuff that pertains to me and my wedding. It isn't talking about responces coming in or final dress fittings which is not where I am even close too in the whole wedding process! We have some of the most posted threads - from 04 Dresses, meet other 04 bride thread, Bridesmaid dresses and what not. I know its been done on B2B but I hate always losing a thread and having to search for 10 minutes to find it!
May is now obsolete - I dont think all the may 04 brides (and there are tons so far - the most inany 04 months) really need it. 2004 is a board good enough for us! We enjoy it there! 2003 is getting slow because more than half the brides are already married. The same will be the case with 2004 but in a YEAR. Right now it is so useful!!!! Getting rid of our board isn't the answer to anything else. People who aren't even 2004 brides double post on the 2004 board from B2B as well. We just pretty much ignore it. It's not that big a deal - in a day that thread will be gone.
We love our 2004 board - don't always go mentioning that it is worthless and that B2B is the place to get it all done - B2B is just too busy for that!

I dont think any of the NW really care if there are 10 BHB boards or one (i didnt even realize there were those boards until recently!)...it just seems that when there was one, the NW board was mostly NW discussions. Now that the brides are fragmented into many boards, the brides continually come here to post the same questions again and again b/c they dont get the response from the brides side. Since there are now 4 BHB boards - why is this board need to be one too?
Lets not turn this thread into a pro or con of the 2004 board b/c that is not the issue here. Just look at the past few NW pages, you could barely find any NW stuff under the wedding stuff. If the 2004 girls have ideas of how to keep this board a little more focused, Im sure your suggestions are welcome.
I dont think any of the NW would mind the bridal questions if they were occassion or very specific to the NWs ..but very general questions are now a daily occurance that is breaking up the purpose of this board.

I personally do not care if the extra boards stay or go. The May board has died down considerably since we all got married, and next years May brides have been utilizing it a little bit (I'm sure it'll pick up). I think the division is good to a certain extent. The BHB board gets so crowded and the posts move down so fast that things girls are looking for get lost easily. That is why we were so happy to have the May board. I don't think it takes away from the sense of community...I think it helps to be able to get help targeting your planning by date. I think we can all agree that the BHB board has not lacked in posts. So I disagree with the 'losing the sense of community' thing. This site has become huge and that was inevitable. But, it's pretty cool how many girls actually do know eachother off of here. Clicks are also inevitable, because honestly, many of the women who have been married a few years don't have much in common with a 21 year old bride to be. But I don't think the word 'click' always means a bad thing. So what if there are people on here we all don't know....no way can we get to know everyone!
Anyway, once we are all married, we are all right here together on the Newlywed Board. Which brings us back to the point....
The Newlyweds deserve to have a board not clogged by repetitive questions that occur on BHB. That's Shamma's point. And I agree wholeheartedly. When all these girls are newlyweds, they'll understand.

To the people coming here and yelling about not having your boards taken away....Ron and Liz have not ONCE said they are going to delete them. So chill! You are getting worked up over people's opinions about the issue. Don't sweat it! Chill!

My point in mentioning the number of BHB boards is that the more there are of them, the less likely brides' questions will be answered by newlyweds. While I can only speak for myself, I don't doubt that most of the newlyweds have neither the time nor the inclination to visit four different boards to see if we can help any brides. It's not that we don't want to; I know I'm always happy to share whatever knowledge I have even though it may be outdated at this point. I just think when it comes to receiving our input the brides suffer from the presence of so many boards. It's their loss, but it's up to Ron, not any of us.

Shamma, I used to post here a lot b/c I never got the answers that I needed on BHB!!! I dont know why, but I have found the newlywed opinions to be more valuable when planning vs. the bridal opinions... And I hardly ever went to BHB when I was a bride... I try to go there now sometimes and help a bit... But I think I was always a newlywed, even before I got married

Never once did I read anyone say get rid of, they might have questioned why so many.

LIWeddings did say that the 2004, 2003 and May boards would go to BHB here That is why everyone is so defensive of the 2004 board.
Although I do agree that posts about pre-wedding stuff shouldnt be on the NW board. There are plenty of other places to post.

I don't understand why there are so many boards. 2003, 2004, I'm assuming 2005 will be coming soon?? Is there going to be a June, July, August and September board??? I thought the BHB should cover all brides to be no matter when they are getting married. If it is hard to find the info on one board, just do a search. I only used the BHB before I was married and now I use the Newleywed board after my wedding, but see a lot of wedding questions from the brides to be. So it kind of takes away from the Newleywed Q&A, doesn't it? I feel that most of the questions asked on BHB, the Newleyweds can answer, so if you ask them on the Newleywed board, it turns into a second BHB.
