a coworker of mine got married while we were on our honeymoon last year...so we did not go...I sent a gift from their registry (I even got confirmation from Fortunoffs that it was sent)
well a few months after the wedding...one coworker got a TY with a pic...another got a TY...no pic...I have not received anything...
My last day of work is Friday...should I ask him if he ever received the gift? or just let it go (another coworker is getting married, I will not attend...but I just sent a gift - and they are friendly) do you think he just screwed up the TYs...or that he never got it...
what would you say?

Re: no thank you
I would ask them if they ever got the gift. I know someone who sent a gift and the person never got it and their friends just assumed they sent nothing. They didn't find out until about a year later and by that point there was no way to find out what ever happened to it.

Wow, that's a tough question. I probably wouldn't ask, but that's only because I have no balls.

I would definitely ask about it. If they sent out TY's to everyone else then its reasonable to expect one. Maybe they just got your address wrong or something...but its best to doublecheck they got the gift.

Re: no thank you
I wouldn't ask, b/c to me that would be like you asking for the Thank You card.
alina...thats how I kind of feel...but I do want to make sure that they got it...
BUT I also have no balls like you Jenn...lol
I tried to get coworkers to ask for me...they wouldn't!!!

You are going to get different opinions..I think that I would ask...but I also know that ironically...it would be considered tacky on my part.

I have an idea...since your moving...say you want to confirm his mailing address so you can keep in touch and maybe casually mention the gift?

Yabbo, have you seen their wedding pictures yet? If not, perhaps there is a way to work that into a conversation, and bring up the fact that you didn't receive the thank you card and a picture along with it? Otherwise, I would let it go, b/c if you were worried about them receiving the gift, you would have asked that right when they got back from honeymoon, right.

Re: no thank you
I would totally ask if they received the gift in a tactful way. I mean anyone who mailed me a gift - I made sure I mentioned it to them verbally.
Actually, I never rec'd on of my friends gifts (it was delivered while on my honeymoon and sent back to mfg - with no word to me). She didn't bring it up and I found out only by chance...something was added to my registry (and I never look at my registry - don't know why I was looking that day - it was way after my wedding and shower) and when I called the mfg to find out why - they filled me in on the tracking info. Because it was from a remote location - I figured out who sent it, confirmed it all and finally got the gift sent back to me.
You may want that as piece of mind that it was rec'd. It may be awkward but worth it. Then if they say yes - it may lead to further conversation or they are just plain rude. LOL

Re: no thank you
You may want to ask; for my shower I received a present with no card and, after several phone calls to the store, they determined who sent it. However, it took a few calls from me to find out.

Re: no thank you
I would ask if they got the gift. I probably wouldn't bring up the thank you.
I'm not really worried about the TY...I don't mind that at all...its just the TYs that got me thinking he may not have received it
but I don't want him to think I sent this other guy a gift and not him...
I guess I should bring it up...but I think I fear embarrassing him...and thats why I haven't said anything...

Re: no thank you
Erica, I am still waiting on Liz's shower gift that I ordered, anything could have happened, I would definitely ask. You can say since you will not be around you wanted to confirm receipt of your gift that was purchased from her registry. I wonder why she did not send you one. I guess maybe she is doing them in sets

Re: no thank you
hmmm - that is a tough one! You don't want to put him on the spot, but you want to make sure he never rec'd the gift and thought maybe you stiffed him! I'm sure that's not the case but who knows.
Maybe you can bring it up casually in conversation? Like, 'oh, how do you like the food processor?'!!! THat way you're not asking him point blank.
