What was the best advice you got about marriage?
What advice would you give to other married couples or people about to get married?
*****************************************************************
Don't go to bed angry. I also read the other day a couple married for 50 years said it doesnt mean you have to make up that night, but just dont go to bed angry. try to put that anger aside to kiss goodnight or say I love you and then solve the problem the next day. I like that because DH is the type that needs his space sometimes to cool off and not talk about it right away, and i cant sleep when we are fighting, but at least if we just kiss and say i love you, I think i'd feel better about waiting to solve it the next day.
Be polite to each other. I try to always thank my husband when he cooks or cleans. He usually does the same.
Not to talk bad about each other to other people. I hate when couples talk shitt about their spouse, even if it's joking. I think it's disrespectful. A couple we know who have been married for years said it just keeps getting better when it;s the right person. I loved that because so many married people make jokes about being married and sound bitter towards the other person.
My advice would be to not tell your friends and family about your fights and keep it between you and hubby.
And to always remember what made you fall in love in the first place.
To always put the other person first and to put 100% into your marriage.
To always kiss, hug, cuddle, hold hands and show affection through the years.
