*~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

If you were to win a chunk of money... say $20,000 -- but in order to claim that money you had to go out TODAY and spend $20,000 on complete strangers -- how would you spend it?

Be creative ladies, let's not just say 'I'd buy someone a car'. Stretch it out a little!

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

20,000 and had to spend it on strangers?

I'd probably spend a good chunk getting kids that are in homeless shelters or orphanages gifts. So let's say spend 10,000 on cool gifts, clothes and necessities for kids of all ages and then go around to different places, especially in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, and LI and give kids who might not get any gifts, cool stuff...clothes/ toys/etc

Where we used to live in Queens, there was a homeless man who used to always sit outside Rite Aid on Queens Blvd. I always felt so bad for him. I'd get him some clothes and food and give him a big chunk of money so he didn't have to sleep on the streets in this brutal winter.

Maybe use the rest to help other homeless people. Give them blankets, some cash, food, coats, shoes. I always feel sooooo bad for them, especially this time of year.

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

Since its Christmas season I would go to shelters and bring Christmas gifts for the children and some warm clothes for everyone else.

I also just saw 'it can happen to you' for the 1000th time and I always thought it was great when they were in the train station and paid for everyones ride. I would get a whole bunch of metro-cards and just give them out randomly as people are going in the train station.

Love that! I was thinking something like that...I saw a movie (forget what) where he paid for soooo many people at the tolls. That is cool. But loving the metro idea! :)

That would make my day.

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

There was a post on LIF about a guy who dresses up as Santa and goes around handing out $100 bills. I'd probably do something like that!

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

I'd do sorta the same as above. I'd help needy/sick kids. Maybe I'd do like a make a wish thing and try and make some sick children's dreams come true. Send them to disney with their families or the wold series/superbowl tickets.

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

I'd probably give it to a single mom or dad who is struggling to support their kids, help them pay off bills, maybe buy a couple of gifts, and (if anything is left) set up a savings account for them. it might be boring, but it's what i'd do!

I would help out animal shelters. Buy heaters if need be, in this cold. Buy toys, food, etc for the pups.

I would probably stretch that sucker into a big donation and supplies for various animal shelters!

Re: *~*~*NWQOTD 12/16*~*~*

Tough call, cause I love the Santa handing out hundreds idea - and it can help alot of people...

But I'd also like to do a 'long term' something with the money... Like take a single Mom with kids out of a shelter and pay rent on an apartment for as much time as the money would allow...(with, of course some money taken out for gifts and home furnishings etc)...and giving them a chance to get on their feet ...
