Let hope the rain holds out! We are supposed to be getting a fence put in today ARGHHHHHHHH
Any way I just wanted to mention if you have time today say a little prayer or send a little hug down to Tennessee I really hope that the flooding resolves. Luckily I was able to experience Nashville when I was younger on a family trip
So here's today's question:
What is something you can do to be more green? Are you doing anything now? I know it can be expensive to buy eco friendly products and they are more expensive in stores. Do you have any home remedies for green cleaning?
Enjoy Ladies

We recycle and try to conserve water when we can. Thats about as green as I get. My MIL composts and she collects rain water for her garden.
its crazy that the media is really not showing us whats happening there. I went to nashville last yr and its a fun town.

We recycle, I'm a maniac at shutting lights off and making sure we're not wasteful with water. I'm trying to eat more organically lately. Also, in the summer we plant a vegetable garden and only use organic soil and no pesticides. We only use energy saving lightbulbs. I only do full loads of laundry.

We recycle. I bring a reusable bag from Wholefoods for my lunch everyday....I used to use platic bags from the supermarket for my lunch! We bring our reusable bags to Wholefoods when we foodshop. I use a large water bottle at work instead of refilling the small cups in the kitchen. That's about as far as I go...I wish I could do more...but honestly...I don't know how.

Before grad school, I worked for the Suffolk County Water Authority in the HR Dept (it was only for the summer), and I learned so much about how we can conserve water and how much we waste daily...I should upload the cheat sheet I still have from them! :)

I use a stainless steel water bottle for lunch and I used some green cleaning products. Other than that, nothing really. We're not able to recycle because we don't have a bin and they won't pick up our bottles and cans and glass when we put them out in bags. I try to conserve water and shut off lights and whatnot. I work with a lot of 'eco-friendly' and 'green' products, so I know that they're really not that eco friendly at all, so it's kind of a big buzz word and that's all.

I recycle and try to conserve electricity. But that is about it.
I refuse to buy a green car... they might be gas efficient, but my electrical engineer husband said that the batteries are 50x worse for the environment then the gas you use. You can't dispose of them and he thinks its going to be a problem in 10 years.
Same is true of energy saving light bulbs, the bulbs are dangerous for the environment and can't be thrown out, so how does that help? Plus they throw horrible colored light. Its so depressing.
I don't know you may all disagree with me but I am a skeptic about these so called energy saving products that are supposed to be so great for our environment.

I always use my reusable grocery bags. I no longer buy bottled water for home - bought a really good water filter instead. DH and I are both nuts about turning off the lights. We recycle.
That's really about it.

We recycle, always turn out lights when they aren't needed and unplug appliances when not in use. We don't drink out of plastic water bottles, we have the Brita pitcher and we don't use paper plates or cups. Oh and DH flips if he sees me brushing my teeth with the water running! He is nutso about that. I wish we could do more like use all the eco-friendly cleaning products but they are a bit more expensive. I think once we have a kid I will though cause I'll be so nervous about the chemicals.

We have become really militant about bringing reusable bags to the grocery and pet stores. We also recycle EVERYTHING and have always tried to use less power and drive less. When we can we buy organic/local/fair trade stuff.
When we move to California we plan on starting our own veggie garden.
