*~*~* NWQOTD 7.13.11 *~*~*

Good morning!! I was listening to Z100 on my way to work this morning and it sparked today's NWQOTD. They were talking about how Danielle hates fish and that she refuses to try sushi.

Today is a two-parter question:

What types of food do you hate?

Also, what types of food did you used to hate but overtime have grown to like?

I have a few types of food that I don't like and never eat:
- Seafood
- Mayo
- Bacon
- Hotdogs

When I was little I used to hate cheesecake but overtime I have grown to LOVE it, which probably isn't such a good thing..haha.

eta: My entire life I hated bananas until about 3 years ago. Now I love them!

Beets (always hated them and the juice runs into my other food- yuk)

Tomatoes except for cherry tomatoes- just dont like them

Lamb- I cant get past the smell of it

Interesting questions...

I used to be a 'chickaterian' so that ruled out any other kind of meat, but now I'm the opposite way - I'll eat anything: beef, pork, chicken (and not as often, but I will have seafood and LOVE sushi).

Never eat list -
MAYO
tuna fish (but I will eat tuna sushi!)
chicken salad
eggs ( just can't get past the smell...)

Ummmmmm, there is not one thing I don't eat. I am trying to think.... Nope... I am not a picky eater at all. I may not cook certain things, but I have eaten everything.

When I was younger, I wouldn't eat raw seafood, now I love it!

What I don't eat:

*Most seafood (I like crab cakes if they're not too fishy, california roll, spicy tuna roll and clam chowder)
*Olives - cannot stand the taste of them
*Tomatoes - but I like tomato sauce
*Chicken Pot Pie - bad experience in high school that scarred me
*Steaks that are chewy - only like filet mignon and skirt steak

What I've learned to like
*Spinach
*Sushi...my very limited but the tuna roll was a stretch for me

I don't eat red meat. Period. When I was about 5 years old, my mom took me to McDonald's and bought me a hamburger happy meal for the first time ever. I took one look at it and calmly told my mom 'I don't eat red meat.' And I still don't, to this day. I've tried it several times over the course of my life and I just don't like it. I also can't eat pasta unless it's al dente. The texture gets me.

Foods I didn't used to like but now I do:

-Chinese Food
-Nuts (Cashews, Pistachios, & Peanuts- YUM)
-Onions- Why I thought I didn't like them for so long is beyond me! Onion dip is possibly my favorite thing in the world.

ETA: Spinach dip and artichoke dip! YUM. And calamari!

I honestly can't think of a food I hate....

I can't eat raw seafood (clams on the 1/2 shell or Sushi) - but not because I hate it...I can't digest it and I get sick.

Food that I've grown to like..
Asparagus & brussel sprouts. Used to be I couldn't walk by it in the grocery store with out gagging... Now I eat them every chance I get!
