NWQOTD Tuesday, October 26th

Today's inspiration comes from a personal situation. It could actually just be a poll unless everyone wants to share 'war' stories.

When going to the doctors office for a more than routine appointment do you bring your DH or do you leave him home?

As much as I want DH's support and to hold his hand, I prefer to leave him home. He gets all huffy and puffy whenever there is a wait. As if that's not bad enough, he thinks that making fun of the other people in the waiting room will take my mind off of why I'm there in the first place. He means well I guess, but why not talk about something else instead of picking on others?

Thank goodness I havent had to go to the Dr for anything more than a routine appt but if I did- I would defiantely want DH there with me.

As much as I would want DH there, I would probably leave him home and bring my mom or dad. They tend to ask the right questions while DH just sits there and then asks ME the questions when we leave.

I go by myself unless I'm not feeling well enough to drive. I go see the doctor alone though even if DH or someone else came with me.

i suppose it depends what i'm going for ... i've only needed to go for 'simple' things like an ear infection or cough or whatnot and went alone. But if it was something serious (broken bone or whatnot), i would prob want DH there.

I haven't had to go for anything other than a routine check up so far, but I would leave DH home, it would take too long for me to have to explain everything to him while we are there and get me more annoyed

before dd i would always go with dh but he rarely came to mine. dh came with me to a few dr apts while preg but majority happened when he was at work so I went alone.

DH only came with me to a few doctor's appointments- but they were relatively serious and I wanted him there. And if they have to take alot of blood- I get queasy and need him to hold my hand!

come to think of it, DH always comes with me whenever I'm nervous about doctor appointments. I had problems with TMJ during grad school and had a lot of dentist appts. It wasn't a severe health problem or anything, but I always wound up crying after the appointments because a lot of the work was not covered by insurance...it was EXPENSIVE and not fun. He came to every single appt with tissues!

I'm a nurse so I go to appts by myself, regardless of the issue. However, it it was for me being preggo I would totally want DH there for some!

On the flip side DH wants me there for all of his appts. Even when he goes to the dentist for a cleaning! SO ANNOYING!

I usually go by myself but made him come to a really important one when I was getting important test results back...but other than that, he doesn't need to come until we are preggo.

I prefer him to come with me. I get pretty bad anxiety and DH is the only one who can calm me down.

I'm glad I'm not the only big baby around here!

Though I didn't think about the pregnancy thing. If it were for prenatal appts., I'd want DH there. And probably still my mommy, too.
