OK ladies. it is HUMP DAY!!! ANd it it almost NYE!!!!!

which brings me to the question of the day....

what has been your most fun NYE so far? with DH and w/o DH?

okay for me...

with DH...we usually go to catering halls to celebrate NYE. but the most fun was the first year i was dating DH (it was also the first year that i actually went to a catering hall on nye!). everything was so fun and so surreal. we went with him family and then we all went back to his sisters house to crash. then we woke up the next day and ate breakfast and watched tv in our pajamas. fun times!

w/o DH....probably 1999. it was all the excitement of y2k. went to a friends house for a house party. had waaayyy too much fun. lots of beer pong. 2000 was the year that i resolved not to have any more beer!

w/ DH...it was probably our party two years ago. We had it at DH's parents house, and everyone kept saying '5am! 5am!' because that's the time we were planning on staying up until. I THINK we made it? But I can't really remember...I just remember that everyone was INSANE.

We are hosting in our own house this year, so I hope this year will be the best!

w/o DH...I was invited to a friend's party in PA. I think I was 19 years old...it was the year that we had that AWFUL blizzard on New Year's Eve. I went with 3 of my friends...it was so bad out that a normally 2.5 hour drive took NINE hours. When we got there, everyone else was all dressed up, but we were so cranky that we were just in jeans and such.

We were all SO incredibly drunk. I woke up covered in my own vomit, one of the guys woke up in my MOH's shoes, and we kept calling the meatballs the 'meatballs of doom.' Other insane things happened too. It was just wild and crazy.

My most fun with DH had to be the year we got engaged coming into 2009 (actually it was after midnight so it was 2009 already)!!! We did the normal about going to dinner (against my will) and then we went back to his sister's house and we hung out, little did I know I would get engaged a couple hours later!!!

Without DH was probably the year I went to 56 fighter group with a bunch of people when I worked at WLIR! It was a lot of fun!

DH and I normally just celebrate the new year together watching Rockin eve and pigging out on takeout - a little lame but we love it because our christmas celebrations are crazy.

best year without the DH was 1999 - 2000 I was in Italy taking a college class - it was so much fun and my most memorable new year.

My most Favorite NYE (pre DH)... was 1999. My Father sprang for airline tickets and the whole family went to St. Thomas .... we had such a great time and celebrated the coming of 2000 with a fantastic dinner...drinks...playing games.. My Father (who NEVER played games with us as kids as he was always working) turned out to be fantastic at charades!

My most Favorite with DH... was 2008. I had flown down to NC to spend time with my sister and wasn't supposed to be home til Jan 2nd (as DH always works NYE). I couldn't be with out my honey on NYE so I changed my ticket with out telling him and showed up to his restaurant at 11:30pm. He was carrying out a package for his Manager to her car and walked right past me!! I touched the back of his neck, he turned around and nearly dropped the package. He was so shocked to see me... it was great!

ughhh is it bad to say that none of me and DH's have been super spectacular? we just go to his moms or aunts house and eat. then go home lame-o

without dh i took my SIL and brother to copacabana and we saw a live band. it was a lot of fun

The first year we were dating, DH and I went to the restaurant that was owned by a college friend's family. They had closed the restaurant just for all of our friends. The restaurant was right in times sq so we partied, drank, ate yummy food all night and then right before midnight we all went outside like half a block and got to watch the ball drop. Then we went back to the restaurant to continue the night.

it was awesome that we got to watch the ball drop without having to stand out in the cold for hours.

too bad that restaurant closed shortly after!

Unfortunately, it would probably all the NYEs I spent with my girlfriends in HS. We got wasted and had a blast. Yes, I always wished I had a guy there to smooch at midnight, but DH's NYEs suck! They're always spent with his family and yes, some friends, but the night DRAGS on unnecessarily and I'm left sleeping alone b/c he's playing texas hold 'em for 1254639 years.

I've never been much of a NYE kinda girl. The only NYEs I've spent with DH we went to my aunt/uncle's house and they were low key. Last year and this year he'll have to work.

My favorite NYEs were actually when I was younger- staying up late and spending time with my family. The best was 2000!! I was 14 years old and just had so much fun with my cousins.

My favorite New Years was 2008, my first year with DH! We were still so new (~2 months dating) and we got very drunk together for the first time. Plus we were with all the couples that we are now very close with...just a good time overall!

best- all of them with dh. our house parties..since we can drink and not worry about drving.

WORST... well...our 1st NYE party 5 yrs ago together... all i remember was the 1st xmas card he got me going up in flames... then i was rolling on the floor singing along with hillary duff...
next morning i wake up, go pee and meat falls out of my pants... yepp

pepperroni and vomit stuck on my hair.

dh's friend decided it would be funny to stick hot dogs in my pants??? we didnt even serve hot dogs. so creeepy.

New Years Eve 2006. Technically it was without DH and with DH.. lol bc we weren't together - we were just best friends - but we got totally wasted with our friends that night and wound up making out at like 4am lol. Our first kiss, although we were really drunk, was actually the best first kiss I've ever had. My boyfriend was downstairs but I left him two days later for DH. It was really bad and a lot of drama for a while, but it was worth it. There was always something between me & DH for a really long time but that was the first night we acted on it. Can't believe its gonna be 4 years in a few days!

my best NYE ever...

Was the millenium NYE.

I was 15 years old and my boyfriend at the time and I went to go see Metallica, Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

I was obsssssssseeeeeeeeeeeesssed with Metallica as a teenager and it was ... so amazing.




Hate to say it but all three NYE's I've spent with DH so far have been really boring. We always stayed home and he lived with his idiot sister so getting her out of the house was always an issue.

This year we live by ourselves obviously and we're going to a friend's house for a party so... YAY.

My DH, being on the NYPD is NEVER home on NYE. I have known him 4 years now and I have never seen him on NYE and he says I never will until he retires. Oh well, I will spend it with my Mom and sis.
