Does anyone know if it is illegal to drive around without a front license plate on your car?
For the past couple of weeks, someone (we have no idea who) is parking their car overnight in front of our house and the car doesn't have a front license plate.

yes it is illegal in new york state. you have to have both front and back plates in new york.

we needed a new lightbulb above our back plate in order to pass inspection...so i'm assuming both plates are a must lol

Actually its not illegal unless its registered to New York, I dont have a front plate but my car is registered in SC, they dont give you 2 plates unless you request it and since its not a law to have 2 plates there we didnt request it. Is the rear plate NY???
Random question-why does it matter if they have a front plate?

do they have NY plates or another state? a lot of states don't give you front plates?
are you perturbed that they are parking in front of your house? like you are looking to report them for the front plate?

well i get the whole difference between the burbs and queens and the city with spots. but i am still bitter that when i went to visit my sister in Brooklyn--there was NO PARKING except for one spot across from the house--i parked in it and some fuking DOUCHEBAG threw hot coffee all over my car. his a jerkoff who absolutely thinks he owns the street in front of his house.
when my sister was moving in--her friend parked his car in front of his house to help her move and the @sshole had the balls to tell my sister that if the car wasn't moved he'd 'release his pitbulls'

niiiiiiiiiice... we have a parking garage behind our building where we *rent* a spot... problem is, we have 2 cars so whoever has to work late gets the keys for the night...
