You girls are so sweet! Thanks for the support ... though I must say that Joe worked some sort of miracle and managed to get Sunday off and so everything went as planned and he REALLY enjoyed it ... and of course I did too! It was really wonderful. Thanks girls! Your support means alot bc not many people can understand my frustrations!

Re: x

I'm happy for you!!! Yay!!!

We actually had to change our wedding date because of the PD!! We originally were getting married on June 8. But it turned out that's the day of the Puerto Rican Day Parada, and it's a MANDATORY work day. We would have lost 75% of our guest list!! So we actually moved our date up a week to the 1st. I even had some people booked, the hall booked and everything, and had to change them all. It wasn't fun!

I hate this

Cop is shot in Harlem

Three bullets wound NYPD captain, gunman escapes

A plainclothes police captain was shot and seriously wounded in Harlem early today, apparently by a gunman who fled into Jackie Robinson Park, police said.
The unidentified officer was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove slugs from his groin, buttocks and side.

A police source said the wounded captain, a 12-year veteran of the force, was wearing a bulletproof vest that may have saved his life.

He was talking and in stable condition at the hospital, the source said.

Authorities said the cop, a member of the Manhattan anti-crime unit, was on 154th St. near Bradhurst Ave. when the shooting occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Just what triggered the gunplay wasn't immediately clear.

Rhonda Enos, 31, who lives nearby, said she heard three shots and looked out her window. She said she realized the shooting victim was a cop by the magnitude of the police response.

'The cop was staggering, holding his stomach. Immediately, a whole bunch of cops came to the scene. They picked him up and put him in a car and drove away,' she said. 'A million cops were on the scene.'

The shooter ran south on Bradhurst and ducked into the park.

Officials quickly ordered a Level Two Mobilization, bringing hundreds of uniformed officers to the area.

Area canvassed

Joined by Manhattan Task Force units they quickly surrounded the park bounded by Bradhurst and Edgecombe Aves. from W. 145th to W. 155th Sts., stopping and questioning anyone found in it.

Using floodlights and aided by a police helicopter and bloodhounds, Emergency Service Unit cops and officers in full riot gear began a slow and careful search for the gunman in the hilly and heavily wooded park grounds.

Other officers went door-to-door questioning people in buildings around the park.

The gunman was described as a 5-foot-10, 150- to 160-pound black man with a medium build wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly rushed to the scene but declined immediate comment.
