Ok ladies so I am going to create a team since a few of you are definetly in for it.
The event is on April 27th, 2008 and its a 6 mile walk that you do at your OWN pace-NO powerwalking! We would just all meet and have a good time laughing our butts off and knowing we are burning calories AND helping babies!
I have two questions for anyone interested:
1. What should our team Name be?
I had originally thought TEAM NEWLYWED but I migh try and open it to any brides; past, present and future to get a better turnout so it might be better to choose a neutral name.
2. What do you think our goal amount should be to raise?
I in the past have made between 150-350 on good years. People are generally pretty generous and willing to support this march cause its for babies. But I do not want to set the goal too high. Whats a reasonable number you think? I would rather go lower than higher so if we exceed our goals, AWESOME, but if we do not, thats ok.

LOL - i just got a vision of us parading down the streets in shirts that say 'PERVS'
but for real - what about just LIW???? and if we do that, maybe we can even get Ron & Liz to donate????

ps: i also think the goal about may be easier to figure out once we have a better idea of how many girls??? unless u just wanna throw a mediocre(sp?) number out there...better to exceed it by a lot than fall short....

Yea I am thinking Team LIW and just posting an amount of $200 dollars because even if its 4 of us, we should be able tor raise that amount and exceed it. I need to put in a bumber to create the team is why i asked for the number.
Hmm should I ask Ron and Liz first? Like I don't want to have LIW shirts if they're not ok with it. How should I contact them you think?

i'm pretty sure u can just send an FM to client services with all the information.... first i'd tell them that u'd just like to use LIW as a team name....because i actually think March for Babies provides t-shits....then later on maybe ask if they'd like to donate, or have us wear a logo, etc...

i think manhattan would be best since we have girls from long island, the city, jersey, and even PA....it's a whole day thing two months down the road so we can all plan for it. I just think it's easier 'cause all the main train lines go right into penn - and then people can either take the subway or swing a cab up to lincoln center...

I just signed up.....my friend & I are planning to walk together but since she'll be 6 months pregnant by then she'll have to see if she can still do it. Where are you walking ?? We were planning on doing the Eisenhower park walk.
This would be for the one in NYC by Lincoln Center. its huge. I do it every year. And like taryn said, its central for everyone because of mass transit. We have plenty of time to plan and raise moola for the babies.
Taryn I just Fmed Kim and am waiting for ehr response. The March does provide tee shirts with whatever name you want on it. Thats why i need to get the OK from her or Ron before moving forward with it. It would be great advertising for the site, but we just need to ok it. if they do, then we will be Team LI/NYC Weddings'. if not, we will just do somethign generic like 'Team Go Babies!' lmao or something cute.

Kim said we can do it! I just replied seeing it the Site would be willing to sponsor us as Suse suggested. That way we would all be united under the same banner so to speak and they get free advertising. I;ll keep y'all updated. Going to go do some work now lol.

yaaaay! i am so excited for this! Jen as soon as u create the team let me know so i can do the next step - whether it be signing up(not sure if u sign us up or we do it ourselves), and then let me know when i can go about getting people to donate towards it..... i'm super pumped!

we should totally make 'Newlywed' buttons ...they can make buttons that say 'bride to be' as well or 'old married lady'

It is perfectly fine with me to use our name for the walk. I do prefer the entire name (LIWeddings) over the abbreviation (LIW).
About the amount. Well, don't take this too personally but you are thinking way too small. You should start with $1000. You can increase it when the time comes! And you will have to increase it!
