Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
I try to cook at least 4 nights a week, if not more. I've been cooking for him for about 4 years now. And yes I cook the same things over and over and over again! Everytime I try a new recipie, it is not edible! I am no chef!DH NEVER cooks for me! He's tried and he is a horrible cook! He made me steakums, american cheese with ketchup on a lenders bagel. So I do the cooking!
We eat Chinese A LOT!o

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
I cook 5 or 6 nights a week. My DH tries to help, but it works out better when I cook and he cleans up after, which he always does.
I get Cooking Light magazine and LOVE it! I make at least 8 new recipes a month.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
It'll vary.. sometimes I'll cook 4 days a week, sometimes, I'll cook all 7 days. Especially since we're saving for a home now, it's back to 7.I LOVE to cook, so I started spicing it up a bit. I'll make your typical chicken cutlets and all that good stuff. However, lately, we've been making kabobs at home. We both love fish, so I've been making catfish, sole, salmon and scallops. I've ventured sometimes (mostly in the winter) to a roast beef etc.....
We actually play a game w/ food too that we like to call, 'try something new'. Once a week, he'll search for a recipe that he wants to try, or I will. We'll go buy what we need, and make it. There's this excellent Greek recipe that is to die for- and it's fool proof!!! We absoluely love it...

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
I hardly ever cook - and he hardly ever cooks! Although, we are both pretty good cooks.Mondays we are usually at my parents, and since we are on opposite schedules during the week, he has a big lunch, and I'll have sald or cereal for dinner.
I'll usually cook on a Sunday since I have the time. If he's home during the week, than he'll cook.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
DH usually cooks 4 nights during the week (M-TH). We have all sorts of chicken, pasta, turkey burgers, pork chops...tonight we had tacos! He gets home first...so he cooks. After dinner, I clean up the dished and I make our lunches to take to work the next day
On the weekends, we usually eat out on Saturday and then Sunday it's either a big meal that takes long...or sandwhich's because we are lazy.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
um, he is a MUCH better cook than I am. When he's not working nights, he'll cook for me. I really need to start cooking though, I'm starting to feel guilty. But it's hard bc he's so much better at it than I am!!

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
I was also going to posted about this topic. I cook about 1 or 2 times during the week and I cook on the weekend. My DH cooks on my late night. He cleans the dishes, so actually I rather cook because I HATE cleaning dishes. I try to cook a dish during the week that we can get a couple of meals out of....Like today, I cooked baked ziti. I love to cook, just not during the week. I am shot when I get home.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
I cook about 5 days a week. We usually eat out once, and one night a week if I'm tired we'll either order in or he'll make something (like grilled cheese and soup or veggie burgers-he's not much of a cook:)I tend to mix up things that I usually make if I get bored (maybe making homeade sauce with a different amount of spice, using different veggies in the curry I make, or taking a big salad and putting it in a wrap with veggie chicken instead of in a bowl).
Sometimes simple changes can make an old favorite feel new.
Try a new cookbook if all else fails.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
You could also scour the grocery store for new sauces and ideas (sometimes I'll pick up a new stir-fry sauce or new kinds of soup).Try going down aisles you don't spend too much time in.
If you aren't vegetarian, try some of those items for something different...
Also, making something that usually comes prepared from scratch can be a good change (homeade mac and cheese or homeade soups).

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or
i cant help it, i dont cook. I hate every min of it. I would rather just not eat. But maybe its b/c we both go to school and work and i dont get home till like 8ish from work while he gets home at like 5ish. So shouldnt he be cooking for me??? He complains but i say your a grown man, you can feed yourself... we've been living together for 3 yrs so he's pretty much used to no meals by now.. so bad, what can i say???

I've cooked once since I've been married! DH and I are on different work schedules - we can only eat together 2 nights a week and those nights we either go out (date night) or end up eating my mother's or his mothers. During the week I'm too lazy to cook for myself so usually have a salad, cereal or some leftovers
Ditto -- and I've been married since 2002!
