Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

Does he cook for you!

Ive been married almost 3 months and starting to run out of ideas of what to make for dinner...lol

I cook 4-5 days out of the week, maybe a day we'll order in or go to eat at parents house..etc..

Does anyone feel the pressure to cook?!! Or what to make every night?

I know, it can get pretty expensive eating out all the time>

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

I usually cook about 4 or 5 days a week. Fridays we usually order in and sometimes one other day of the week we get Subway or something, and sundays we eat at his parents house. I choose tonight to order in because he's behind on the dishes... so i tell him, if i have nothing to cook with, i can't cook!!! hehe

I am running of ideas of things to make. We're trying to eat healthy. SO usually i make grilled marinated chicken cutlets, with veggies and potatoes, turkey chili, grilled chicken in wine sauce thingie, ground chicken or turkey with tomato sauce and diced tomatoes with pasta, turkey burgers, some other chicken experiments.... or pasta and sauce for a quickie meal.
but im getting bored with the same old stuff.... and i hate using too many ingredients. So i want to get the cookbook of 5 ingredient recipes.
He used to cook, but lately he's been getting home later so its harder for him to. But i'm starting to hate cooking!

oh, and sometimes we cook pork chops or steak.

LOL..Good for you.

My hubby doesn't like anything fried very much.

No.....Fried chicken cutlets, pork chops, vegetables, fish.......

Everything has to be grilled, broiled or baked...lol

Me on the other way, don't mind it once in awhile!

I usually cook at least 5 nights a week. On the weekends we like cooking together. I really enjoy cooking and get Bon Appetit every month to help with the ideas. They have a great section called To Busy to Cook which are great for week day meals.

BA is great! I love it and can't wait to get my subscription each month. I make a lot of things out of it. I usually cut out the recipes I like and put them in a binder based on ingredient (ie chicken/pork). Also great is Epicurious.com, it lists all the BA and Gourmet mag recipes and allows users to rate/comment on them. Very helpful.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

Our routine M-Th is....

I get home from work and do all the preparing but dont cook anything.

I go running and by the time I get home he is either cooking or getting ready to cook the food.

Friday and Sat. we go out...see friends and family etc. and Sunday I usually cook...cause I usually make something big and complicated....its my test the recipe day since I have more time.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

4 -5 days a week for me. Tonite is pizza nite. I am so happy I do not have to cook tonite. I was running out of ideas until I started to research receipes online. I found a great website, it is the kraft interactive site. You put in ingrediens and receipes pop up with ratings and how many items you need etc.
This week so far has been kind of boring- hamburgers on Monday, ( I add garlic, onions, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, eggs), Tuesday was chicken, tonite is pizza, tomorrow is some sort of turkey, and Friday is probably going to be shrimp in vodka sauce with pasta. I know this weekend we are going out on Saturday , and Sunday my friends parents invited us over for a BBQ. It gets so boring after awhile to figure out what to cook. Dh is a picky eater.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

I've cooked once since I've been married! DH and I are on different work schedules - we can only eat together 2 nights a week and those nights we either go out (date night) or end up eating my mother's or his mothers. During the week I'm too lazy to cook for myself so usually have a salad, cereal or some leftovers

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

Right now we are renovating our kitchen so I don't cook at all. When it is up and running, I usually cook 3-4 times a week and my husband cooks some nights too. It depends on our schedules but he is a better cook then me.

Re: Okay, Newyweds! So, how many days a week do you cook for hubby? or

Typically, I cook 4-5 nights a week (depends if one of us has plans with friends during the week or work extremely late). I cook M-Th and then on Sunday. Since I don't usually get home after 7 and eat about 9ish - I usually make less complicated/more healthy meals M-Th...mostly meat (chicken, pork, beef, fish, etc) and a veggie. Sunday is more of a day for a bigger or more complicated meal. Fridays and Saturdays we typically eat out or order in. I do almost all the cooking and he washes the dishes. I do feel like I am in a routine for what I cook on weekdays - but since I am limited on time to cook and never can get to the grocery store - I guess it has to be this way.
