Old last name or new last name?

Original post by FireIslandLove

I definitely miss my old last name but my friends still call me by a nickname (which is part of my old last name) - so I feel like I'll get to hang on to it forever!

I love my new last name - I feel like its the new married me!

I loved my old last name. It was a pretty common Jewish last name, but I liked that it was obvious, since I'm proud of my heritage. My new last name isn't so obvious.

Old last name was long, and Italian and it had 13 letters..
New last name has only 6 letters and is very common..
Hmmm....
New One!

No one ever pronounced my old last name correctly unless they were Spanish. I gave up correcting people very early on so it has always been pronounced to sound Italian rather than Spanish. My new last name is so easy to pronounce and spell, it's a refreshing change.

I did the same as TraceyinQueens....Hyphenated on the marriage certificate but I have not changed anything. I don't really want to change it. We'll see what happens when the babies come!
