Usually $100-150. We generally go every week and a half to two weeks. DH eats out for lunch every day (that's not included in my estimate above) and we out for dinner usually around twice a week.

We spend about $125 a week...and that's in Manhattan where the prices are sometimes DOUBLE than what I see on LI or where DH's parents live in Monroe. Yesterday we were in Monroe and went to Walmart to do our shopping and we stocked up on a lot of stuff, like a HUGE thing of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. Plus food for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2 weeks...we ended up spending $140. We were shocked. A shopping trip that big would have cost us AT LEAST $300 in Manhattan. When we left DH said...'We have to get out of the city!'

Just as a comparison...Edy's gallon of ice cream is $7.99 in the city...it was $3.00 at the super Walmart by IL's house.

I'd say about $300 every 3 weeks. We don't go food shopping every week though. We do one big food shopping trip and then I get bread, milk, dog food, eggs, etc. from the little deli down the block from my house as needed.

it depends...

if we dont need meat or chicken in the house, i try to go light and i'll spend around $50-$65. If it's a week where we need meats then I can spend up to $100.


I used to go to 2 stores also to get whatever was on sale at each store, but a lot of people told me not to do that because then when you go to the 2nd store you end up seeing other things you may want or that are on sale and in the end u end up spending more money than if you just went shopping at 1 store.

same here....about every 2-3months we do one huge Costco run, and thats about $250, i get all my meats, detergents, pet food etc.

i use to spend around $100/week at the grocery store but realized that was just way too much for two people, i recently really cut back and like the above poster said, if its a week with meat around $100 but otherwise its about $60 now.

i admitted i had a problem. and im getting over it. i would spend roughly $200 a week. sometimes more. i would go food shopping at least 4x a week. lately i havent been going at all. just milk, eggs, watermelon and 2 cornish hens lol

we had/have soo much food in the pantry that i dont need to go food shopping, i went out of boredom.


instead we go crabbing and that has been our dinner TWICE last week!

we go every two weeks and spend bout 200 when we go...one we eat alot...two we drink lots of soda/water/etc so that adds up and 3 im always buying something to try out some recipe lol

we do our big shop about every 2 weeks. but every week i'll run in and pick up just a couple things we need like eggs, milk, bread, for the week. so it varies from like $60 to $150 depending on how much we're buying per week.

i went yesterday and spent $130... it varies. DH likes name brand food- not shop rite brand so i accomodate his lifestyle. He isn't cheap when it comes to food that's for sure.

I would say I average $120. I try to save buying cleaning supplies for weeks when I don't need much of anything else because they are the big ticket items. Its less in the summer and more in the winter because we cook less in the summer.

Between $70-100 a week. This doesn't include toilet paper, paper towels, toiletries ect. That stuff probably runs about $80-$100 a month.

we try to spend between 75-100 per week.

DH is brand particular though on some things which makes it difficult.

And I like to try things, and will buy things because I have a coupon even if I don't need it.

I spend about 100-125 a week on groceries, and that's being very conscious of planning my meals around the sales and clipping coupons. But we eat a lot of fruits and veggies and organic foods as much as possible, and those are more expensive than foods pumped with artificial flavors and preservatives.

$40-50 a week but i only buy whats on sale and we dont buy meat - fil is a butcher so we get it all for free

i would say about 550/600 a month. I buy only organic foods so its pricier then reg or reg healthy food.

We spend about 50-75 a week. I only get things on sale and I use coupons whenever I can.
I stock up a lot and always have a full fridge/ freezer as well as my pantry.
Im also buying for 3 people and 1 is a teenager
