My real first name is Margaretta ~>Peggie is short for Margaret (might I add here that I HATE MY NAME) said like Margaret-ta not Margharita.......![]()
i seriously had no idea!
and i happen to think your real name is very pretty.
people are idiots, i don't know why they can't pronounce names correctly.
they were always adding letters to my maiden name (even though its pronounced exactly how its spelled) ... and its soooo rare that my married last name gets pronounced correctly. its only THREE letters long! when i spell it for people they always want there to be more letters ...
the best is that lots of people pronounce my first name as JENNIFER

How funny, I thought Peggie was your real first name. And why do people pronounce Margaretta as Margarita?? I dunno, seems pretty easy to say but then again people butcher so many names that that's more of a rhetorical question!
On a side note - Margarita is my middle nameIt's my grandmother's name and most of the granddaughters have it as our middle name. There's even a salsa song by that name!
BTW, did your wedding invites have Peggie as your name or Margaretta?

They went out as Margaretta not Peggie...its hard to explain but both my first an dmiddle name are shortened
Margaretta Lucia if I am being formal
Peggie Lou is not.....so they went out as the formal version since I did NOT want people callig my Peggie Lou for the rest of my life![]()
