Honestly, the people who are complaining need to get lives.

But that's just me.

Look -- I'll be honest. You are late. I think 2 months, maybe 3 is the longest you should make people wait. (Espcailly since you've divided this task -- I wrote out all of them as my husband doesn't believe in thank you notes) I know the photograph thank you notes are all the rage, but it might have been better for you to write out plan notes and then send a picture later.

However, I think is it is very rude for you family and friends to make comments on this.

We got them in April; I've been getting them out. DH insists on writing them to his family and friends, which is fine with me, but he won't be able to get them out until right before Memorial Day weekend.
His family has been complaining since March and he's annoyed at them for forgetting that he works and is a student and that our photographer had to MAKE our cards.
Are we late on these if he does them by the end of May for an early January wedding?

I didn't even get mine until 2 1/2 months after the wedding

I think the photo ones are worth the wait-

I don't really agree with this. I think if you can get them out within 6 months that's acceptable to he!! what everyone else says. We had a huge wedding and I had almost 200 thank you cards to write because I knew if I waited on DH he!! would eventually freeze over! That's 200 thank you's, plus a full time job, plus taking care of a new house, etc, etc.... I got mine out 4 1/2 months (closer to 5 months really) after the wedding. Not bad for that many thank you's if you ask me!

JanuaryBride - don't worry about what other people say. If all they have to do is complain about not getting a thank you card yet, then they really need to find something better to do with their lives!

its insane to say that after 2 months you are late. You are not late. It took me 6 months, and i knew people were complaining, but i didnt care, I waited to get the picture ones.

When we did get the pics in, the FIRST ones we wrote were to the older people, becasue we knew they were the complainers. Get them out of the way first, but dont go and buy different thank yous to get them out sooner.

they will get them when the get them. Don't let them upset you.

Yeah, I'm sure I had complainers too because mine went out right at the 6 month mark. Just about 1 month after our wedding, we moved-- I didn't get to see my hard copy proofs until August, or 2 months after the wedding. Once I got the actual pictures and note cards we got them out within a months time. Unfortunately it isn't a perfect world. Don't let it stress you out. It's better to send a Thank You note LATE, rather than NEVER.

Re: People complaining about thank yous

I am still waiting on thank you notes from three weddings......one wedding was in 1999 (they are divorced now), one was in 2001 and one was in 2004 And I flew out of state for 1 and out of the country to attend two of them.

Better late than never

ETA - My mother asked me last week if I sent out our thank you notes I had to remind her that we do not yet have the proofs so it will be a little while since we are adding photos.

No way! The people who are complaining must have nothing else to do!!! Just because you didn't get them out asap doesn't mean you aren't grateful. Besides unfortunately most will just throw them away. I guess they forgot that we have busy lives too! don't let it get to you!

People complained a ton about ours...but last time I checked we started our 'thank you' when we hosted an all out 'open-bar-tons-of-food-party!' When they finally did get them they all kept saying it was worth the wait Can't please em' all!

Re: People complaining about thank yous

We had ours out within 2 months of our wedding and we still had complaints that they were not out early enough. Hello -- we were on our HM for 2 weeks after the wedding - did you expect us to do them on the HM? People need to get lives. I think 3-4 months to get them out is fine, especially if you send them with a photo or on a photo card, but more than 6 months is pushing it if there is no photo.
