Ok so here is the deal.. MY DH had a pretty bad sinus infection like 2 weeks ago but last week it started to subside. But when it started to subside, he developed a bump behind his ear ( like where the bone behind the top if the ear is) At 1st i thought it was related to the sinus infction BUT now that the infection subsided and this bump is still there and is killing him im starting to get worried. He cant even lay on that side when he sleeps and its been giving him a heachache...
my issue is that i have no idea what kind of doctor to call to have him checked out.
any ideas girls? please help me out

Re: please help... suggestions
I would say an ENT or Otolaryngology.
I say start with these first and tell them that he had a sinus infection and then this started. They would know if it is related to the sinus infection or just a dermatology problem.

I'm a very bad person to ask this to because I would say grab a weapon & pop/rip/cut it.

Maybe a dermatologist also-it might be skin related-and if it needs to be removed/popped/ etc. they would be the ones to do it

start with your regular doctor. he may be able to tell what it is right off the bat and save you from going around to various specialists.

Sounds like a cyst, try having him go to a regular physician first, this way the doctor can recommend the right type of doctor for the problem. Otherwise go direct to an ear, nose and throat doctor, they handle that stuff as well. Good Luck with everything

If you tell them he is in pain they should take him in right away. Hoep he feels better soon
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has to call the doctor for my son I mean DH.

How is your DH doing? Michael had a bump on his upper back last Feburary and he showed it to me. I said I think you need to go to the doctor but to make sure I am not overreacting go see your mom (she's a retired nurse) and she said to go to the doctor. The doctor refered him to a sergon (which I actually was not too thrilled with 'another story') and her had the bump removed in day surgery which was a non cancerous fatty cyst. Took about a couple of weeks to a month to fully heal. He was perfectly fine for the wedding and he is perfectly fine now. Please keep us posted on your DH.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you two.

Re: please help... suggestions
It sounds like the infection may have traveled and is now built up in this 'bump' on his ear. This happens to my Dad all of the time (back of his neck) and my grandmother just had one removed from her colon. I'm not sure the ENT will be able to do much but refer you to a surgeon in this case. They may try a hardcore antibiotic first to see if that gets rid of it.
My Dad has had his cut opened and drained several times in a doc's office. He also had it surgically removed once (in and out - no recovery or anything). The thing still comes back and he's given up on the docs so he just puts hot rags on it until it opens up and drains itself. Gross, I know.
