alot of steak houses can run higher than that. How about a real nice italian restaurant or something like that. You can still get a great meal for around that price.

I agree with Espo..for the really good tasting steak places you're going to be paying a bit more...usually it's like 30 (minimum) and up for the piece of meat alone...

Does anyone know how much Ruth's Chris runs?

it runs us about $150 w/ tip for dinner for the two of us. that's with one appetizer, two glasses of wine, two sides, and two steaks. this year we went during lunch hours, and the same meal was $75 w/ tip! the steak came w/ a side, and the steak w/ side was cheaper at lunch than it was for just the steak by itself at dinner, and was just as delish.

majors in east meadow is pretty good. it's not ruth's chris, but it's much more affordable, and so far anytime we've gone we've had a good meal. next weekend we're eating at frank's steaks on jericho. the prices are a bit less than ruth's, and we've heard it's good.

there's always good ol' trusty outback!

steakhouses in general are pretty pricey. I know DH went to Uncle jack's for his friends bday not long ago and he still paid a decent amount. Theres also Ruth's chris but again i think its pricey.

around what price range?

he said he liked it alot, it was very good. He loves steak houses but i am not a big fan and RARELY go. But knowing from him going alot, they do get real pricey. When he went to Uncle Jack's for his friends birthday, he only had to pay for himself and when he told me how much his bill was it was alot. Of course the guys had to get a bunch of appetizers and share and they drink a decent amount so that definitely brings up the cost.

Oh yeah DH likes it there too. His other all time favorite is Smith and Wollensky. I like steakhouses but dont get to go as much as DH. (He goes alot for work). My favorite all time steak was at Blackstone....porterhouse for 2. Unbelievable! But anyway - yes it is pricey and with drinks, sides, apps....oh boy it can get up there!

is delfrisco's a steakhouse? i know him and his friends go there too. Maybe ill go one day but when I go out to eat I never want to eat steak so thats why I stay away from steakhouses. Give me a seafood place and I am happy

Yup - Delfrisco's is steak...it's right outside my office window! :) Never been, but it's supposed to be good...

As for Uncle Jack's, I've gone once and the porterhouse was really really good...We'll definitely go back there at some point...
