Please wish us luck!! Update!! We made it through our 1st day!

Original post by Christys0925

DH and I are both smokers. Well today we went on the patch because we want to start a family. I did not want to find out I was pg and still smoking, so we both went on it. I can feel myself getting cranky already!!! Also it's rediculous how much it costs. We figured it up and last year we spent 5200 on cigarettes( IN ONE YEAR). Anyway, please wish us luck!!

good luck! it's the hardest thing i had to do, but i'm 5 years without smoking now and i smoked for what seems like forever. i just keep reminding myself that I am going to die early and not live to see my nephew grow up...and not go to china or japan.....or australia.......

Good Luck! I smoked for many years, and tried to quit several times before I was successful, so I can fully empathize with you!

My only recommendation is that each time you are tempted to smoke, make it a point to stop and think why you are quitting in the first place.

I think in this case, its pretty clear. You want to be around for your children. You don't want them to have to go through losing a parent at the age of 5,6 , or 7.

Whatever your reasons are, write them down, say them over and over and over again, and always remember them. THese reasons are bigger than a craving.

I think its AWESOME that you guys are doing this and being so considerate of your future family. Most people wouldn't even think of it. KUDOS TO YOU AND YOUR DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
