Q of the D

Its been awhile since we had one!

How do you feel about your first name?

Eh its alright, plain.

My mom wanted to name me Sabrina but my brother hold her no that HE was going to name me Karen Christine... And so here I am, Karen Christine! lol

ETA: my brother is 10 years older than me

HATE it! it doesnt suit me at all plus people also call me something dumber like mary sue or mary ellen

ummm my first name is a combination of my grandparents name so its definitely not a common name. When i was in school I wished I had a simpler name bc people always mispronounce it so most people just call me either V or Nelly.

I'm really not a fan of it....

My dad wanted Alexandra my mom didn't b/c people would call me Alex. My dad wanted Samantha, but my mom didn't b/c people would call me Sam.

So they settled on the plainest name they could find, that you can't shorten.

Hence...Jane

Although I LOVE my middle name... Harte (heart) it was my grandmother's maiden name

have hated it most of my life even though I get complimented on it a lot. I was the 4th so they ran out of grandmothers to name me after. People have always had trouble pronouncing or spelling it. It's grown on me a little more in recent years.

I like my name - Jean

I'm actually named after my mom, so i'm a Jr. as well. If dh and I have a daughter we want to name her Myra Jean (both of our mom's names) and call her M.J. for short.

I'm used to my name now, but I always thought of 'Heather' as a bimbo name for some reason.

Actually, my real first name is Heather-Ann, but who in the hell would actually call me that.

I love my first name... i was named after my great grandmother, so its cool. Not to mention my dad is Angelo and I am Angela so it is a cool conection i have with my father!

Same here. There were a gazillion Jennifers in my grade ALWAYS. I think it's plain and not unusual ... which is fine with me because my last name growing up was unusual enough and no one could pronounce it. There is a song by Mike Doughty, lead singer of Soul Coughing, called '27 Jennifers' that is exactly how it was for me growing up - 'I went to school with 27 Jennifers ... 16 jens, 10 jennys and then there was her.' Great song!

I used to hate when people called me Jenny - absolutely HATED it -- but then in college one of my boyfriends started calling me that because he said I looked like Jenny Gump .. and now DH calls me ONLY that for the most part, and now I love it.

I would - I always call people by their full names - unless they ask me not to of course. I LOVE using full names and hate using nicknames. . . strange since my name here is a nickname but theonly people that use it are the people who kenw me first online LOL

I HATED my name, tried to change it, cried about it, lied about it - thought it was an old lady name.

NOW? I love it, glad it is so different and glad that I am named after my grandmother who I never got to meet.

Angela's my middle name, I love it. when i was young I used to sign my name 'S. Angela ____' hoping I could get it to stick - I couldn't!

My cousin is Keith-Christopher. He would only get called that when he got in trouble Everyone called him Keith. In 7th grade he decided he hated that name and now goes by Chris. 17 years later my uncle still calls him Keith

I like my name, but everyone always misspells it !! Just b/c I had a last name 'rosenthal' people assumed you spell my name with an 'h'.

I even have family members who still misspell it. I

If I could change it, I would change it to Charlotte. I love that name.

If I was going to be a boy, my name would've been Steven.
