Q regarding slow cooker recipe

I want to make this recipe in my slow cooker but I'm thinking of adding broccoli to it. My question is for those who cooked broccoli in a slow cooker, when should I add it? I'm scared it will be too soft if I let it slow cook on low for 6 hours. TIA!!

Ingredients
2 (18 ounce) bottles barbeque sauce
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

Directions
In a large bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, pineapple with juice, green bell pepper, onion, and garlic.
Arrange 4 of the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken. Place remaining chicken in slow cooker, and pour remaining sauce over the top.
Cover, and cook on Low for 6 hours.

Re: Q regarding slow cooker recipe

I would add it toward the end. If you cook broccoli for 6 hours it will fall apart not to mention all of the vitamins in it will be destroyed from the excessive cooking. I would add it during the last 30 minutes or so.

I agree - or leave it out and just quick blanche it or nuke it depending on how you like to cook and throw it in before serving
