Posted by RisiLeigh For me, its not even about that. I just know what I used to look like and I remember how people used to tell me I was 'too thin' and some even thought I had an eating disorder Now, I have this major pot belly going on, and I feel like I look pregnant! However, despite my complaining about this, do I change the way I eat? Um, no! So really, it's my own fault! I can't wait til the nice weather is here so I can ride my bike and take walks and stuff.
same here. I'm not really comparing myself to celebrities since I know that with my curves and bone structure I'd look like crap being THAT skinny. What I'm comparing myself to is how i used to look. But I shouldn't complain - it could be a LOT worse. Like i said before, if I could just lose 10-15 pounds, that would be awesome. But it seems impossible these days.

No i do not. I like it a lot better than I did 6 years ago when I was a size 20, I loved it about 4 years ago, and now i dont again. I've gained about 10 pounds since the wedding, which is 25 pounds from what I was when I loved it.
I think I have a pretty face, but when I gain weight, it gets more round, and I dont like it. The only part I actually like about my body are my calves, the rest of it, thighs, hips, belly, flabby arms, I HATE!
I've finally started eating healthy again this week, and next week will start again for the gym in high gear. I read a post this weekend, where Denise bet her DH money for whoever loses weight first, and i thought this was an awesome idea. SO Dh and I are doing this too.
ETA: I do get depressed when I look at celebrities who are A LOT skinnier than me. But I know thats not realistic.
What my goals are is to get back to what I was 4 years ago. At that time, I was a 6, which for my body isnt skinny since I'm only 4'11, but I was doing a lot of pilates and eating good, so my body was more defined. And thats what I want.

Oh, I totally agree, it could DEF be a lot worse! I would like to lose about 10-15 pounds also, but specifically in my tummy and butt areas. I remember the time when I was able to find my hip bones! Now, not so much

I Hate my body lately! I used to have a flat stomach and now i have bigger thighs, arms and muffin top and i honestly look like i could be 3 months preggo! I gained 15lbs after the wedding and its taking forever to come off! I lost 6lbs so far but i wish it were more. I also Hate Hate Hate my stretch marks, i have them on my thighs and butt! They have embarrased me for years! I also have annoying little veins i want removed! (after I have kids) Iam only 5ft tall and I have a small frame so when i even put on 10lbs its alot for me. My whole life i was told i was too skinny. Which i agree I was only 100lbs when i met DH. I was happy at 115. but when I hit the scale at 130 i literally had a break down. I couldnt fit in my jeans anymore, I couldnt wear my winter jacket because my arms also gained weight and the jacket was to tight. I know it is not alot of weight to some people. Many of you probably hate me for saying it. And I am sorry if I sound stupid, but honestly I really have no self esteem anymore. I just want my confidence back. MY Dh even says he sees a difference in me. He wants that confident sexy girl he first met back. Now its lights out i dont want you looking at me. I used to walk around naked in front of him but now I just cant. Ok iam rambling on!! Sorry!

i also have to add that i have gotten MUCH curvier the last few months! i all of a sudden have a woman shape lol.. dh actually made a really great comment about it one day & since then i always remind myself about it & keep myself happy i will not say that i want to look like 'what i used to look like'...first because i was just WAY too thin...i didn't think so at the time, but now i look back at photos & think another is because i know i will never have that shape again...the shape we have in highschool is not the same shape of a woman..and even if we dropped tons of weight, our shape is just different now...i think a lot of women fail to realize that. My sil who is GORGOUS always says 'yea well i want to fit in my size ___ jeans again like i did when i was in h.s.' ..and it's like - NO silly! even if u dropped 30lbs u wouldn't because ur body is just built different now! and it's BETTER!

Awww, Steph! I do know what you mean. I seem to have gained a lot of my weight after the wedding. How come when we all go off to college, we hear about the Freshman 15 but no one ever mentions the Newlywed 15!!! I also have a job where I am sitting nearly ALL day long. So that, and the fact that I don't eat well does NOT help the situation!

I think there needs to be a 3rd answer.
I love my body, but I hate, hate, hate my arms. If my arms weren't so fat, I wouldn't look like such a linebacker. I wish my body was proportionate. I don't mind that my tummy isn't flat and that I have a little pudge..I kind of like that...and I don't mind my thighs...I just hate my arms..I want to take a scissor to them and cut the fat off lol

I just want to say that, I have had stretch marks since I was in grade school. It was so tough having these red marks on me when no one else did and not knowing what they were. I learned to just deal with them. It's not like they can go away. I was actually surprised when I was with my friend once. I was a little skinnier than I am now, and my shirt lifted up by accident and she saw my stomach and she said 'what? You have stretchmarks?' as if it was impossible for me to have them b/c I wasn't 500 lbs. It made me feel like people expect certain things from others just based on the way they look. It tought me to deal with it, there was nothing I could do to change it. DH still married me....and to quote my girl, Beyonce 'flaws and all' =D no one is perfect..and I am not saying I LOVE my body completely, but you can't change some things, so you have to learn to come to accept them somehow.

I wish I could say I do but I dont even like it a little bit. I HATE my arms, my boobs, my stomach and all its rolls, my back fat (which is probably the worst its ever been), my huge hips, my massive a$s, my cellulite, my thighs.
And no matter how hard I work at it, I will still always hate it. It makes me sad

Exactly, it's a part of life. The media never portrays anyone with these 'flaws' so we all seem to think that it's not acceptable. EVERYONE has them..and no one should be ashamed of what they can't help/change. :)
I just want flabby arm surgery, that's all lol

Ok - I think this is a topic that takes a lot of courage to talk about so thank you in advance to all that are answering.
I wish I could answer yes but I just am never happy. I work out alot and really dont see results. What does it take to get a nice stomach?!?!? What does it take to get rid of butt cellulite? Maybe it is time to just accepting myself for who I am?
jen - i have seen ur stomach in ur photos and i can tell u - u have an AMAZING stomach!!!
as for cellulite - even kim kardashian's got it & the boys(and girls!) DROOL over her! i doubt u have it anyway! i remember a while back i was fully convinced i had tons that i even pulled down my pants to show my sil lol..she told me i was nuts, i told her she was a liar..but then she took a photo just to show me..i look back at it now & realize i WAS nuts.... NOW i have it
Haha it was probably emaciated wedding photos! But thanks. Its probably just my own issue and some people just genetically have 6 packs! Some dont!

Ok I am starting to think this post was a bad idea. We are all getting down on ourselves and this is not good! Time for postive energy!

Re: QOTD - #2
I too have struggled with my body image as far back as I can remember. It has not been until I have reached adulthood that I have actually started to take good care of my body, making healthier choices and getting active and have kept it up now for about 5/6 years. Don't get me wrong, I still struggle, I think I always will, but my weight hasn't fluctuated as much as it used to. I too, cannot say that I love my body right now. I haven't worked out in a long time and haven't been eating that great. So as of lately I'm trying to improve on that. I think once I get into to a healthier routine I can love my body again. I can't right now because I know I haven't been doing all that I can to feel good about it. Hope that makes sense!

I've never loved my body because I always thought I needed to lose weight. Now that I have gained weight, I look back at pictures of me when I thought I needed to lose more and thought I was crazy. Once I get back down to that weight I know I'll be happier with my body. I think as women we will always not be 100% happy.

Re: QOTD - #2
I Like my body but dont love it. I was always thin in HS and people would tell me I am too thin. But then I gained some weight sophmore year of college I was probably about 115-120 and I am only 5 foot with a small frame...so I thought I was disgusting. But then I went down to like 110-112. I stayed that weight till my wedding I lost weight not on purpose and went to 104lbs, people were actually worried about me. I thought I was fine and looked great. I did look good but not great. I mean my face was very skinny etc. But now I gained probably those 5-7 lbs back and am at 110 I think I love that weight it is perfect for me. However I do not like my thighs and my cellulite on my @$$ haha. I mean but who can help that. I have a curvy bottom which makes my thighs bigger and my a$$ bigger. But I do love my butt. I just dont like my thighs and I have no boobs which makes me sort of look off haha like big hips no boobs haha...but overall i am almost 100% comfortable in my body almost.
