What in your life scares you most and why?

For me it has to be DH's job. He's an FDNY firefighter and everytime he goes to work I'm so nervous that something is going to happen to him. I'm confident in and comfortable with the people he works with so I know they would do anything to save one of their friends, but just the thought of him running into a burning building (cliche, i know) or god forbid, responding to something like 9/11 scares me to death. He's extremely intelligent and has more common sense than anyone I know, so I know he would never do anything that he knew would be too dangerous, but you can't always tell how dangerous a situation is until you're in it!

One of our FGs is in a bad home situation. A really bad home situation. I don't want to get into the details of it, but she's 5 and both her parents are facing jail time and she's getting lied to a lot about it. I saw her this weekend and she drew a picture to send to daddy who is 'in the army' meaning already in jail.

I'm afraid for her. Terrified for her. God forbid something happens to her I don't know what we'd do- I'd feel so responsible. On the other hand, I don't know what to do for her for right now. It's a lot of waiting around until the judgement is handed down. I don't even know how the mother still has custody of her.

DH and I have considered adopting her if it ever came to that point... but I think that scares me even more. What would I tell this kid? She's 5 and she's smart. She knows something is terribly wrong with her parents- her mom especially. She's going to catch on that she's been lied to so much now and I'm afraid she's eventually going to hate us all for it.

Man, sorry I kept going on and on but we had her for the weekend and it made me think long and hard about it.

i would say this is a major one for me too!

but in general i am just afraid of everything..i have some anxiety issues...especially involving death...that I will die or that something will happened to my loved ones. I know its normal to be afraid of that but I def think about it way too much.

See mine is not exactly that I won't be able to have kids.......but that I'll be a terrible parent. I just see these complete derelects everyday at work (I'm a foster care caseworker) and I'm terrified that I'll turn out like these people and completely ruin my children's lives.

I keep telling everyone that my job will either make me the best parent ever or the worst parent ever

My irrational fear is aliens. I am terrified of them and the thought of alien abduction.

My rational fear is that there will be a day where either DH or I don't come home...this all stems from my dad being a cop and as a kid, I was always aware that every single day, his life was on the line. DH doesn't work in that kind of field, but I still worry. I, on the other hand, am applying for law enforcement positions as I type this...so I don't know what that says about me and my fear.

Presently, I'm scared of DH losing his job~he's been having some 'issues' there.
Then there's being scared of people dying (my mom, grandma, sister, DH, etc) which gives me anxiety at least once a day.

I'm the same way. Always have been..since I was a kid. I hate that it consumes me sometimes

that our lives won't ever get better. We are both feeling very stuck and no matter what we seem to try nothing seems to work out for us.

I have a hard time believing we will ever be able to own a house and be okay.

DRIVING.

I absolutely hate driving and only do it because I have to. I've never really been in a bad car accident, but I've seen so many, it just makes me nervous. I actually hate being in the car. The only person I trust driving is DH because he's honestly the best driver I know. I only drive because I live on L.I and I have to.

I'm terrifed I won't be able to have children, especially with some personal issues going on right now, but DH always tells me no matter what we will be parents one day whether we have our own or adopt.

I'm also very scared of something terrible happening to me like rape, I think I watch too much SVU and now I have given myself terrible anxiety.

i hate hate hate them and terrified of them...also the burger king guy...i dont care that guy is creepy and if i woke up and had that dude in front of me holding a sandwich id scream like a girl

on a serious note..health..i have some heart issues..i have a leaky valve that i know will have to be replaced one day and have had stroke,cancer,heart attack autism all in my fam and i just hope i stick around

My husband is a NYPD 2nd Grade Detective - Vice/Narcotics. Oh yes so much fun! No it scares me to death. Bu ti pray every night & i know my DH is smart but i still need to pray.

Also i have a fear of financial woes. I dont ever want to deal with that now or in our future. So its important for us to work hard & save save save. Thankfully we ar elucky. but we work hard for everything.
