QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

I don't think it does but I thought it was an interesting question. DH and I were talking about this with friends last night (who are both thin) and they believe that 99% of couples are not fully satisfied if they are over weight. They say it makes you tired, etc..
I don't beleive this is true as DH and I are not thin and are 'happy'. My friends say anyone who thinks like us are full of BS

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

I think it depends on the type of person you are dealing with.

I have put on a couple of pounds mostly in the tummy area and I am a little self conscious about it, Dh really never says anything to me, but sometimes I feel a little insecure about it.

To be honest nothing really affects our intimate life

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

I definitely feel 'sexier' when I am working out and eating healthy. I haven't worked out in a month b/c I'm still adjusting to married life and the nights seem to be getting away from me. I feel lousy and I think my thongs are too tight and my love handles have reappeared LOL!!! Yeah, not feeling too hot these days.

DH is definitely more 'active' when he drops his winter weight which is a loss of 20-30 pounds.

So yes, I think weight does play a certain role but maybe not for everyone.

Don't get me wrong - we don't let it stop us but we're both definitely more self conscious when we are heavier.

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

I think it comes in to play sometimes....

I can admit when I am not feeling totally happy with my own appearance it can cause me to feel self conscious and less 'attractive'.

My DH has never said a word and says that I'm beautiful no matter what (yeah right!) but it matters TO ME more than anything!

The effect it has on our intimacy is caused more by me, than him. The way I feel about myself - not the way he sees me.

So, I answered yes, b/c of my own experiences.

I don't think so but I really think it depends on the person.

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

A lot of us might not want to discuss this honestly but I do believe you tend to want to be more 'out with the sexy stuff' when you feel better about your body. Unless you are extremly comfortable with your body and the person you are with then that's a different story.

Then on the other hand it could depend on the couple, if they both don't mind then I guess no biggie. I think if you are out of shape and really overweight it can hinder trying new or exciting things.

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

My first boyfriend hard to believe since I have been with DH FOREVER, was very overweight.

It really did not bother me at all, sorry TMI, but we had a GREAT intimate life.

I look at it this way:

When I'm working out and feel good - lights on

When I'm heavy and feel icky - lights off

Re: QOTD2: Do you think weight plays a big role in your 'intimate' relationship.

alright Lori you got me on that one Get a minimizer or the slimming pants that they sell in those infomercials late at night, what a joke

I have a serious question, I asked this of my GF and she did not know. I always wondered about people who were obese, meaning you saw the fat in their laps, do they even have intercourse anymore and if so, how?? I am not trying to be fresh here, but this has always puzzled me about men especially that are so fat that I cannot see their weeners, just the fat on their lap. Anyone???
