My friend, who was one of my BMs, asked if I could ask a question to all of you, because she wants the opinion of women, and figures this would be a great venue.
Over the summer, she plans on being a nouveau ice cream man (woman?) in Brooklyn, and is going to sell ice cream pops at outdoor events to the local hipsters. She's going to do organic/locally grown ingredient stuff only, and really market to the neighborhood in Brooklyn that she's in. She was toying with the name 'Cherry Pop' for her business...but was wondering if it was offensive, funny, would go over peoples heads, or all of the above? She doesn't want to alienate the very people she's trying to reach.
So I'm asking for her, do you think it's a good name, or would you be turned off by it? If so, any other suggestions?

I'm not offended in the slightest. From what you are saying it sounds like she's in either Williamsburg, Greenpoint or Park Slope, and if I am right, I think they would get a kick out of it.

It is very cute...I think some people will 'get it' and think it is funny, the others who don't 'get it' will just think it is cute.

Yeah, she's in Williamsburg. From what I understand, I think it'd go over fine, but she just wants to make sure.
